I ordered a steak sub “dry” which is just no added oil. I did not receive a dry sub. I received one doused with oil. Not only was the steak sub saturated but so much oil was used that every item in the bag was covered in oil from the steak sub. I was not difficult or demanding. I didnt have a lot of request or any adjustments except 1 sub with light oil. That sub had so much grease the wrap was plastered to it and the bread was dissolved. I honestly think they slathered it with extra oil out of spite, I just don’t understand why.

I walked in the only person in the store all 3 employees ignored me for almost 2 minutes they were comparing about someone not coming in to work. Even after they stopped talking. I was standing at the counter and ignored
I was just about to walk out when one person said what can i get you not hi or anything
I ordered my food and was ignored again till my food was packed
The food itself is junk from what i know of big John’s the sandwiches are packed over full of meat. For 19.80 ish i got 2 8 inch sandwiches that honestly i would get 2x more at Subway which is ridiculous to say
I got jipped on quantity of food
My sandwich has ketchup on it(sry)
But you can see it’s 75% bread, 5% mayo not even a finger full of onions. And barely any meat
For that price o got ripped off bad and the customer service was garbage
DO NOT GO IN HERE GO TO SUBWAY YOU’LL GET MORE FOR LESS

Now this is what I’m talking about! I almost didn’t go today after the horrible experience I had at the Dort Hwy location last night (see my review there — and steer clear). But I’d been craving Big John’s, so I decided to give the Pierson Rd spot a shot… and I’m so glad I did.
From the moment I walked in, the energy was completely different. There were three employees working — I believe one was a manager — and every single one of them greeted me with a smile, acknowledged me, and made me feel welcome. My order was made fast, fresh, and 100% correct. The food was so good I literally caught myself saying “Mmm mmm!” out loud.
What really stood out was the genuine care from the staff. They didn’t just hand me my food — they asked how it was and if I needed anything else. That kind of service is rare these days and deserves recognition.
Big thanks to the Pierson Rd Big John’s team for restoring my faith in the brand. Corporate — I hope you see this, because the management and crew here are doing everything right. Whatever they’re doing on Pierson Rd is exactly how every Big John’s should be run.

We absolutely love their steak sandwiches . They are made fresh in front of you on the hot grill. I like getting the BBQ steak one . The staff is always friendly and kind. The inside of the store and cooking area is always clean. They have seating inside if you don’t wanna do takeout. Nice place to stop ✋️ at and grab some lunch. Get the big 12 or 16 inch one and see if you can finish it, lol . It’s huge and you might need a nap afterward. Thank Big John’s for many years of great food and service, and we hope you have many, many more years to come.

I am new to Flint and seeing these restaurants all over Flint. I decided to stop as they are always busy and thought there is no way they are that good. From the moment I walked in the employees were super friendly and engaging. I asked for suggestions and they didn’t steer me wrong. Tammy had me get the steak and cheese and onions and while writing this I still can’t get over how good it was. I wasn’t hungry but ate it in seconds and regretted not getting the 16 inch. Definitely be back with the family. Huge shout out and thanks to Tammy, Taylor, Tarra. I will see you soon.

Big johns is a staple in Flint. It’s a must stop by whenever I’m in town. I’ve never been so disappointed at a sandwich until my recent visit. It was so greasy, the bread and meat were just completely soaked. It went straight in the trash, never again!!!
