We just went for our second time. I didn’t remember much about the first trip except for having been impressed by the value. The second trip was As Good As the First. Service and food took a very long time, but food flavor and quantity was really good for the price. I had a steak sub and my first thought was that it was light on steak. My second thought was that it tasted delicious and it came on what seemed like an entire loaf of Italian bread that was wonderful, wonderful bread. And so I expect we will be going back again!

Friendly atmosphere and never a wait. Specializing in Italian food, this place has huge portions at reasonable prices. My favorite is the Eggplant Parmesan and I always get three meals from the portion. My kids go nuts for their warm fresh Italian bread. There House Red Wine Vinaigrette is delicious. Don’t be afraid to try their Veal Parmesan Sandwich which comes served on a 1/2 loaf of fresh Italian Bread. Be prepared to share or take some food home. Although it is slightly off the beaten path, the staff is friendly and will treat you they have known you for years, it is worth the few turns off of the highway.

I eat here frequently. The food is excellent, and the staff friendly. The amount of food served is, as others have noted, epic. I am particularly fond of the reuben, and the cajun chicken wrap. The calzones are huge, and delicious. The selection of beer is somewhat limited, but that’s not why I go here. It’s hidden away, and the decor isn’t the latest and most stylish, but who cares? Can’t recommend it enough.

Went to Big Jim’s Roadhouse based on memories of great meals there many years ago and great reviews, but the parking lot was empty! Sign on front door said it should be open, and when I stepped in I was told it was open, but when we parked and walked inside, no one was there to help us. We waited a minute in the dining room, but still no one came to check on us. So, we left. I was really disappointed!

This jewel is well hidden. After a few turn arounds, I found this very quaint and simple bar / restraunt to be very likeable. The service was very pleasant and attententive. I ordered the homemade lasagna and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food. The entire plate was lasagna and meat sauce, throw in the homemade bread and half of it went home with me., and all for very reasonable price. Hopefully I will be back again.

Ordered food to go. My first time trying this place. Paid $13 and some change.
My burger was undercooked and unflavored, bacon burnt badly. Fried mushrooms I ordered were good.
If I decide to order again I DEFINITELY will not order a burger.
A disappointed meal and I tipped.

Great place if you are very hungry. Large portions of great tasting food. Their wedding soup is one of the best. Lots of different things to choose from. Definitely recommend for lunch or dinner.

After seeing an episode of Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, I wanted to check out the famed Marinara and super sized Meatballs. I decided to eat at Jim`s “Southern” location simply due to the late hour of the day. Again, due to time constraints, I arrived only 75 minutes before closing, but was surprised to actually receive FRESH, HOT FOOD delivered by the Bartender. Since it was so late, I didn’t feel right having the Waitress stay on to attend to just a single patron, so I took a seat at the bar. I was so impressed, I texted my Wife about the highlight of my day. All in all, I would have to agree with Guy, that the food is great and worth driving ten minutes out of my way. Prices vs Portion Size would make Chef Robert Irvine throw someone through a wall! I dont know how they can afford to give away the food on Monday Nights, but if you can make it, you pay 1/2 price & you will not go home hungry.
*Final note: The place was CLEAN, and that in my opinion, out ranks DECOR any day if the week. I gave them a “Good” rating on here simply because others may find it less than they expect, but remember… I was served a meal that cost $11 and the 2nd half is now in my fridge!
Enjoy!

It was a cold night and we decided we did not feel like cooking. Not only that, but we wanted some comfort food. So, Big Jim’s became the choice of the night.
If you do not know where it is, it’s kind of hidden, but I’ve been there before. Entering the restaurant, you see, hear, and smell the bar with its smoking scene. However, if you turn left, and go through the curtain, you end up in the dining room. This has tables which will accommodate parties of one person to about twenty. The decor is old, and there is still a bit of smoke in the air, but you can get used to it pretty quickly.
There was no host or hostess on duty, but someone from the kitchen side called out to us that we should sit at any open table. We picked one and were almost immediately greeted by a young woman who was our waitress (actually, she was the only one on duty). Menus were presented and drink orders taken very quickly. Water was provided within a couple of minutes of asking for it.
The menu contains standards like burgers, pizza, pastas of various kinds and sauces, sandwiches, and hoagies. We ended up ordering an open faced turkey sandwich and the chicken parmesan on spaghetti. A weeding soup and fried went with the sandwich as did some wine. The soup and salad were presented with a tray of warm rolls, cut in slices within a short time. The soup was hot – which was nice as the temperature outside was below freezing – and the salad came with the house made dressing (although there are multiple other choices available). The soup was OK. The salad was mostly lettuce but had some small raisins and almond slivers on it as well as two tomato slices, and a pepperoncini. The nice thing was the bread plate which featured two rolls that were warmed and then sliced.
The main meals arrived and we spent a moment just looking at them. The portions are HUGE!!!! Two very thick slices of white bread were placed on the plate; several slices of turkey breast were placed on each slice of bread and a turkey gravy was slathered on top and dripped off the edges. Next to the bread was a pile of fresh cut french fries and the gravy was on them as well. The chicken parmesan comprised of two very large breasts on a bed of spaghetti with a meat sauce on them. There was much more food here than we could eat so we took over half of each plate home with us. The flavors were exactly what you would expect from comfort food like this.
The whole bill, which included these tremendously large dishes, the appetizers, and wine, came to less than $20 per person which is a very good deal.

after seeing the sign saying he welcomes Muslims, but I saw no sign where he welcomed everyone else. I felt discriminated against, not wanted. Well, im a hard working white person, if that isnt good enough for you guess my green $ isn’t either. Did I mention the screaming, and obscenities and drunks I had to put up with, they have a section for a bar, and it was terrible. I about got plowed over by drunks while trying to leave. The yelling, I was waiting for a fight at any moment. And it was cold there. What is funny is, the day this sign was brought to his attention, 4 hour later one of his muslim buddies killed the joggers. The waitress if fat and bossy. The food is overpriced for so so food. The only decent deal is their one day a week special . Besides that it sucks and is overpriced. Only thing that keeps it afloat are the drunks.
