Best BBQ I’ve had in Colorado! We got the 3 meat platter (ribs, brisket and sausage) and everything was DELICIOUS! Their potato salad and coleslaw were fresh and amazing too. We’ll definitely be going back.

Firstly, the guy working there was hilarious, very enthusiastic, and a great salesman!
The food was not really up to my liking, however. The brisket was not cooked long enough, and drowning in BBQ sauce, and while the ribs were cooked fairly decently and smokey, I’m personally not a fan of their method of no seasoning – no salt or pepper whatsoever, which they seem to take pride in judging by the pitch by their cook. And I strongly dislike sauce on my ribs. Sauce IMO is for covering up poorly cooked meat. Every good BBQ across the US that I’ve enjoyed uses a dry rub and offers sauce on the side.
We are unlikely to go back.

Should HAVE READ the reviews. It feels like the food we were served was cooked and cut yesterday. Dry, hard edges, no moisture left in any of the meat. The sausage was the most acceptable, and it wasn’t that good. We spent $65 for a sampler, and it all went into a soup.. maybe there it will discover some flavor and moisture.
Avoid this place at all costs.
The guy attending the pit was friendly enough.

Similar to other’s experiences and I wish I would’ve read reviews before we stopped. We saw the smoker from the road and were so excited. Being from GA and SC we are always on the hunt for good BBQ out here. Unfortunately, this ain’t it. We got the lunch brisket plate and a half rack of ribs for $60. The food is disgusting and the truck they cook in from what I could tell is very, very dirty. I won’t be surprised if we get food poisoning… the brisket was dry, tough and had no seasoning. The ribs were massive, again no seasoning, they didn’t even go through the trouble of removing the membrane before cooking (if you’ve made ribs you know what I’m talking about). The meat had to have been the cheapest money could buy. Someone else said it must’ve been reheated and I agree – those smokers are just for show there’s no way that meat was smoked in there. Tasted like it was cooked in a microwave a week ago. Sauce was fine. Beans and cole slaw were just bad. Was hard to choke it down but for $60 you don’t want to waste it. Wish it was good, but it wasn’t. I truly haven’t had worse BBQ in my life.

I was very excited to try this place, considering I am from the south. I absolutely love BBQ as well. Unfortunately, it was far less than we expected. The service, I will say, is exceptional. Very friendly and accommodating. The food, however, is way too pricey and quite gross. They have a great selling presentation with showing you the smokers and talking up how Jim used to play in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons. Sadly, the food was so over done and reheated that it was extremely hard to swallow. The truck they work out of as well is EXTREMELY filthy! I love supporting local companies but our experience was so disappointing that we won’t be doing so with them anymore. Maybe it was just a bad day?! Who knows but be mindful of all this before you go.

The food smelled good and I had high hopes.
I did not try the ribs which seems to be what they specialize in. The owner and staff were friendly but the food is more important.
Unfortunately they do not know how to cook brisket. Nearly flavorless, rubbery, tough. Covered in bad BBQ sauce. The sausage is fine but you have to try to screw those up. There are far better options within 10 miles. The price is about what is expected of good BBQ, it’s just not good BBQ. Maybe the ribs are edible but I have no intention of ever finding out.

Really wanted to like this place. The food looked and smelled good. Unfortunately the pork shoulder was very dry and the “pig wings” were mediocre. The potato salad and beans were good (got a sample) but certainly not worth $15 or more (each) for a pint so I didn’t buy any.
The cook had a great personality and I hope they can improve.
I’ve had MUCH better bbq in Texas, Ohio, and even here in Colorado.

Colorado born and bred.
I remember seeing Jim’s as a kid and always wondering what it was like. As an adult, I finally gave it a shot and realized I wasn’t missing out on anything.
The ribs were extremely dry and didn’t have much flavor. The sauce, though may be good to some people, was not to my liking. It had the look, consistency, and taste of gravy.
Having spent considerable time in the south and in texas, I consider myself a decent judge of what good barbecue is supposed to look and taste like and this was not even in the ballpark.
I am really sad about this experience because I really wanted to like Jim’s food. I love it when local businesses in the Parker area thrive and do well. I guess the fact that Jim’s has been here since the early 90’s at least, says that he’s not necessarily failing. Give it a shot and try for yourself, as for me and my house, we will get our BBQ from Jim ‘n Nicks!

Drove by many times and finally stopped today. Prices are higher when we arrived compared to the website. A nice guy called us to the smoker to show what he got. Chicken and Turkey legs looked dry but everything else looked hopeful. Got the 5 meat tray and a peach cobbler. The car smelt amazing all the way home. Got it home and opened to see the cobbler doughy and not all the way cooked and beef and pork that just looked dry. Sausage was the best meat we had out of the five. No flavor on any of the meats except the hickory smoke and sauce if you added it. Sorry Big Jim but I for one won’t be back again.
