My wife and I are vacationing on Oahu and did some island hopping to a few destinations. On the Big Island we were looking at a few things to do besides Volcano National Park. When this little quaint shop came up with good reviews we were immediately intrigued…but there is a long and hilarious story I cannot share with you all now. We had to make a point to stop in and see what was available. There are a ton of local treats. A great array of fancy and exotic island flair; all packaged and displayed as snacks, treats, gifts and wonderment. As we browsed the delicacies I could not help sharing the anecdotal story to the counter attendant of WHY my wife and I HAD to stop in. My energetic recounting of the story brought the other merchants out of the back to share in the funny and heart-warming story. I am very sorry I did not get the names of these three gracious, open, inviting and relatable women. My wife and I spent a good 40 minutes in this 10 minute gift shop because of these ladies ( and the great treats) My fat ass may never make it back to Hawaii but if it does I’m going to stop in each and every time— and go swimming with the manta rays!

Love this place! Delicious creations beautifully crafted thoughtfully presented. I have tried many of their treats and they were…delightful Although the outside of their shop has the typical Hilo “industrial” vibe the inside is warm and welcoming. Everything is beautifully arranged and easy to look through. As good as their products are their staff are even better. Super friendly and very helpful. This really is a local business that cares for its customers. Definitely worth the visit if you’re in Hilo.

Absolutely the best! We visited The Big Island two weeks ago and since then, we’ve been nibbling tiny pieces off our Sunset Lu’au shortbread cookies from the Waikoloa Beach Marriott’s fabulous lu’au. These cookies are fantastic! Now that we’re back in the Lower 48, we’re looking to buy more and try some other Big Island Delights’ products!!

Not only is everything in the shop delicious, but, the customer service is extraordinary. I loved their products so much that I had them mail me a large box to Arizona. They did so happily. I was so excited to find my macadamia nut shortbread cookies waiting for me when I got back. Thank you big Island delights for all your help and delicious snacks.

I’ve always enjoyed their goodies and snacks and their party mix is so good. Great omiyage! But, today I witnessed a beautiful thing and I feel bad for overhearing. A customer’s wallet was stolen the other day and she thought she might be able to use a separate card but it didn’t work. I felt bad and started to ask how much her purchase was, but she said she would go to the bank and return to buy it with cash. Without hesitation, the workers looked at each other and one of them chased her down outside with what she wanted to buy and handed it to her. So awesome! This family business has gone through so much and are always so pleasant and kind. Mahalo for loving your community as much as we love you!

Everything is delicious and beautiful. While it isn’t cheap, everything is creative and tasty. My only complaint is that since I’m not able to come in frequently, every time I’m here, it’s like a day’s pay is suddenly gone! Definitely worth it, though! My favorites are the party mix and snowballs.
