With 5 years of experience in the food industry, we take pride in what we do, ensuring that every dish is crafted to perfection. We embarked on our culinary adventure as mobile food vendors, offering delectable Quesabirria tacos from a charming food tent in Hawaii. It was in that vibrant setting that our passion for delivering delightful Mexican delicacies to the community took root. My girlfriend and I decided to give this restaurant a try after seeing several positive comments about the food. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of expectations.
Como Mexicanos we do not approve this place. The dishes we ordered were far from authentic Mexican cuisine. The rice lacked both flavor and the traditional orange color you’d expect, while the beans tasted like they came straight from a can. The birria and consome were the most disappointing the flavors were flat and uninspired. The quesabirria was overwhelmingly filled with cheese, and the birria ramen was nearly inedible after a couple of attempts, I ended up throwing it all away. 20 bucks to the trash.
The horchata was another major letdown. It was excessively sweet and heavy on cinnamon with no rice flavor whatsoever…it was more like a cup of sugar if anything.
Overall, this restaurant misses the mark when it comes to authentic Mexican flavors. If you’re looking for true Mexican food, I’d recommend exploring other dining options on the island.
We also ended up having an upset stomach afterwards. Which basically cut our day short since being out was quite uncomfortable. I definitely would appreciate a refund for this terrible ramen

Yum. Melty cheese on top of beef birria in a fried taco shell with a dipping sauce. The rice and beans balanced the whole meal. Service was nice and efficient. The agua fresca was refreshing as well.

The best Birria I have taste out of México, the bottle salsas are great the orchard coffee is a new great experience, when you finish go next door to the shave ice they are delicious also ❤️ they brought a part of my Tijuana taste to my Hawaiian visit

As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted by the staff. They accept all major credit cards, where a lot of places around the area only accept cash. We got the quesabirria tacos, the carne asada tacos and the Aqua Fresca. Oh my delicious. This place is a hidden gem. We have high expectations after experiencing Mexican food in SoCal. Absolutely great spot and great pricing as well. Highly recommend if you’re in the area

This place was really good! I got the birria ramen, oh my goodness it was delicious! But huge, so you’ll either need someone to share with or a huge appetite! Everyone else I went with liked their food as well, the only complaint I heard was they didn’t like the rice, however I didn’t try it.

Normally i love this place, food and service are usually 10/10. But today the food was flavorless, tacos were dry, the beans were really liquidy, and the rice had a fishy taste to it, really dissapointed since i overhyped the place to my gf and i would understand if the food was a little worse then i usual but it was too subpar to justify, probably wont go back.
Edit: after writing the review my gf and i got severe food poisoning, and reading other reviews many other people got it too and only after the original owners sold, shame the amazing birria place ended up like this.

Overall experience was good though $31 for one person. Ordered Quesadilla Plate(beef), Apple Soft Drink and two waters. 5 minute wait till food was ready during fairly busy crowd.
The two quesadilla comes with corn tortillas, overflow melted cheese (fried cheese) and plenty of meat. The beans were spicy hot but not overly spicy hot. Rice has an odd flavor but put in the sauce/juice auju and made it quite good. A little greasy in the quesadilla and not sure I’m a fan of the fried cheese.all around the tortilla.
Decent atmosphere. Poplar place and you find it in the quaint town of Honomu. It was $31 though so won’t be heading back fast. See my pics. Oh, found two lime wedges after I started my 2nd quesadilla.
