Absolutely love the place. I saw a lot of reviews saying rhe meat was dry. This is an easy fix. They offer 4 different sauces that they bring to your table that taste great. Big Iowa hot, Alabama white, Tangy Coralina, and Big Iowa Mild sauce to mox with your meats. They all got the kid approval! That’s sayong a lot because they are picky as hell. The beer is cold, the meat was juicy, and the staff were amazing. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Came very early close to opening time and got seated immediately. Ordered a 4 combo platter, choosing pork ribs, pork belly, pulled pork and brisket (extra 500 yen) for the meats, and coleslaw, texan beans and cornbread for the sides.

The pork belly and the texan beans were the standout for me. The pork ribs was tender though the flavor was a tad weak. Pulled pork was a tad dry but it went well with the tangy bbq sauce. The biggest disappointment was the brisket, which was extremely dry and also the most basic flavor profile of the lot (just pepper).

I would recommend people try this place out, but maybe skip on the brisket

It’s a nice spot for hanging out, especially if you’re with a big group. The space is quite large, we went with 18 people and were able to reserve a semi-private area just for us, which was great!

We booked through Google Maps for a Friday night. There’s no time limit for seating, so it’s a relaxed place to chill.

As for the food and service, it was just okay, nothing really stood out for me. But if you’re looking for a casual place to gather with a large group, this place works well.

English friendly staff, delicious bbq spread. The mac n cheese is amazing and comes out on a tiny cast iron skillet.

Accessible smoking area outside. Ask the staff.

Friendly staff. Great food. Fun location. Iowa boy here, so this was a neat find in the heart of Tokyo.

Came on a Sunday to watch the f1. Booked a week earlier at hobgoblin but they didn’t have my booking and said we could eat next door. Hobgoblin was busy and had a good atmosphere where as here didn’t have any people.
The TV is not hooked up to the speakers so sound wasn’t so great.
Ordered 3 hamburgers and all were ok.
Nachos were quite spicy but good.
Service was beyond poor, slow, didn’t understand menu nor could recommend anything.
The guest beer was actual decent.

Big Iowa BBQ in Tokyo is a delightful spot for authentic American barbecue! The Iowa burger was juicy and packed with flavor, making it a standout choice . The pulled pork was tender and perfectly smoked, a true BBQ classic . The mac and cheese was creamy and comforting, just like a taste of home . The cheeseburger was also delicious, with a perfect balance of savory beef and melted cheese . The warm, inviting atmosphere and friendly staff made the experience even better. A must-visit for anyone craving a taste of Iowa in Tokyo!

Finally, we visited this place last Thanksgiving weekend!

People were very nice. Service is fast. Environment is friendly. Place is clean.

Food is great and affordable compare to other American BBQ restaurants.

Pulled pork, Back ribs, are superb.

We had an issue with the Chicken wings but it was attended immediately. [Thank you very much for that!]

I love the saucy mac and cheese and the jalapeno corn!!!

I like their selections of craft beers too!

I hope you can consider opening during lunch time on weekends.

AMERICAN BARBECUE , food is actually on ( Good Side ) could be better ‘ but still its nice . We came here as a group and all of us ordered a platter ‘ what we had similar is the Brisket & im so pissed because the cuts was uneven & i got the driest & the smallest !

Atmosphere is nice ‘ the waiter assisted us is so RUDE ‘ i mean he still do the job but the attitude… were not a bad customer we came to dine not to drink ‘ we were so polite & understanding ‘ so maybe he just having a bad day . We will come back & hoping that the service will be better next time .

It’s alright for Japan, but doesn’t match American levels. I think there’s a few spots in Japan that are better.

– I recommend splitting a meat platter and trying some other stuff alongside
– staff was friendly and helpful
– pulled pork was best (Mild sauce is best flavor IMO)
– brisket was ok, ribs were decent.
– Mac & cheese was disappointing. Would not get again. Jalapeño corn was better.
– cornbread was meh. Didn’t finish
– atmosphere was chill and place is clean/welcoming. (A lot of foreigners)
