We really wanted something healthy, but wasn’t confident that we would get a decent salad, so we both ordered burgers. After we got our food, another couple who came after us received their food. Their salads looked absolutely amazing and they seemed to really enjoy it. Well, too late for us, but know that this place serves great looking salads. The outside seating was lovely.

This place is neat! I got the mushroom burger, and the grilled onions and mushrooms were perfect. The burger was really delicious and the service quick and friendly. My son got a chocolate shake that is top 10 in best shakes I’ve tasted. The fries were overcooked, but the sauces are pretty great. The biggest drawback is how pricey it is. For being so conveniently located though it’s a nice spot to refresh after hiking.

An unexpected delight. Come on in to the Saloon to order or go straight past Lobby Checkin and food counter is on your left. Gorgeous raised outdoor patio views with beautiful desert garden beneath. Very well done!

Service, attention, quality of the food served, courteous staff, it all comes together under a very capable management. The food is really good, and oh yeah they also have excellent craft beer selection at the bar. I do recommend this place to anyone. Even the atmosphere is relaxed and family oriented . I’m sorry I lost the receipt with all your names, but rest assured that the images are good enough for you to be recognized. You all did an excellent job and for that I’m grateful.

For a place kinda hidden.. it was a cute fun place to have a burger. And that’s what they have..Burgers. They have 3 speciality burgers or make your own. I suggest the make your own, My was really good! You can sit inside or outside. And they have excellent shakes! It’s by the small town towards the end of the road by a really cool old western lookin hotel.

After a hike on the Palm Canyon Trail, we stopped here for lunch. The burgers, fries and shake were delicious! I will pass on the salad. It was a bit pricy; but this is a touristy place! Overall, good food and good service!

Nice restaurant in the desert state park. I don’t think there are crazy many options to eat in the park but this place is located in cute old styled western city location and offers nice food and shakes. Food is served very quickly and they have a nice veranda with a great view.

This is the second place I’ve been to in Borrego Springs for food and I’m much happier with this experience vs the first one I had at a “fancier” restaurant in town (check my review profile for the deets).
This place is super inconspicuous and you don’t really know it’s there unless you stay at the rv resort here or look it up on maps in advance, which I’m guessing is why no one recommended it to me when I asked for food recommendations in a local Anza Borrego group.
You order at either a front counter or you can order from the saloon. The saloon had a good small town bar vibe going on and the food was quick to be finished. I had the chicken strips basket which was great and my partner had the mushroom burger with impossible patty. We were both a lot happier with this experience vs our last one in town. Bonus is free refills on fountain drinks and they give you your fries in a drink cup so you can take them to go.
This may become my go-to place to eat when I’m in the area hiking or camping.

The restaurant is inside the lobby of a hotel so there can be a lot of tourists and children running around making it loud, but the shakes are amazing and the burgers have been great too. We come and grab a shake usually at least once per visit through.
