The ambience. The presentation. The food. The flavour. The portion sizes. The service. = 10/10
It was my first time dinning there and I was blown away. Dinning at the restaurant was just great! I had the caesar salad, the mahi mahi, and crème brûlée cheesecake. You will definitely get your money’s worth and then some with the portion sizes. I’m still thinking about the food, will definitely be returning, and have recommended the place to everyone who will hear me. Donna, the staff, and Chef Leslie were very accommodating and friendly.
We even witnessed rude tourists being very unreasonable with staff about what is and isn’t allowed in the restaurant and St. Maarten’s law. When I tell you the staff remained calm and respectful even though they were disrespected was commendable.
I had the pleasure of dining at Big Fish, and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the overall location was simply superb.
The service was outstanding—every staff member was attentive, friendly, and professional. There was even one lady taking photos for their social media, which added a modern and engaging touch. While it felt a tiny bit invasive at moments, it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t detract from the overall experience.
The food was absolutely top-notch! Every dish was prepared with such care and attention to detail—it was evident that the chefs are both knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. Every bite was delicious, and you could tell they put their heart into the cuisine.
As for the prices, they were slightly on the higher side, but honestly, it was worth it for the quality of the food and service provided. It’s clear that Big Fish prioritizes delivering an exceptional dining experience, and they succeeded in every way.
Highly recommended! I’ll definitely be returning for another visit.
Big Fish has a semi-open large dining room and a smaller more enclosed dining area with a bar. The decore is beautiful and upscale, which matches the price on meals.
We went with a simpler meal today including a shared Caesar Salad and two entrées – the Diplomatic Immunity Red Snapper and the Luxury Landing Stuffed Salmon.
Big Fish does not offer small sized soups or salads. While they have that section on the menu, they are large portions and priced accordingly. I would definitely advise you to share one.
All our food tasted amazing, and in addition, they were works of art. Take a look at the plating of our salad, we weren’t sure if we should eat it, or take it home and put it on a shelf a decoration. I really liked how they added a hint real maple syrup to the typical Caesar dressing.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Red Snapper. At the center of the dish was a Snapper filet and six large shrimp. The shock was in how good the creamy green curry sauce tasted. The chef increased the heat for me a little and the result was wonderfully delicious. The Thai influence was strong on this selection.
My wife’s Stuffed Salmon was equally impressive. Packed with spinach, spicy crab and mozzarella cheese, the whole fish was then wrapped up in a rich lobster sauce. If you are not a spicy person ask them to tone down the heat a bit. It was one flame, but when I tasted it, I noticed it had more of medium heat level.
We loved both dishes, and enjoyed the ambiance filled with music in a contemporary atmosphere. We finished the meal with our last surprise, the restaurant makes their own limoncello. Yes we bought a whole bottle and it is chilling in our freezer at our hotel room next door.
Excellent service, with attention throughout our meal that was helpful but not obtrusive. We never felt rushed.
We were able to walk in and get a table on a Saturday night but would guess that a reservation is a must-have in the higher season. The food was absolutely fantastic with an Asian influenced theme on many dishes. The Caesar salad was fantastic! Some of the best we’ve ever had. The school grouper was very good for a straightforward recipe with a nice big piece of fish for the entree. All the entrees were nice portions and exceptionally well done. Prices were more than reasonable with a nice wine selection, also reasonably priced. If we had more time we certainly would have returned for a second meal. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience!
If you’re thinking about it, just go. It’s totally worth it!
