TAKE OUT/ Ordered scrambled eggs with American cheese, sausage, biscuit & a side of biscuit n gravy along with side of cantaloupe. Eggs were scrambled with cheddar cheese, side of biscuit n gravy was non existent & cantaloupe appeared to be on the older side as well as being a child size serving (1/2 of slice, cut in 2). The icing on the cake was a long hair inside the bag. Not in the food but in the bag. I frequent the other locations and have been completely satisfied. However, I was very disappointed with this location. Then the cherry on top of the icing! When my husband called back up there to let them know that our order was not correct, the first thing that was said was that the cheese was yellow American. First of all, I’m not an idiot I know the difference between American cheese whether it’s white or yellow versus cheddar. Everybody has off days and makes mistakes but A comment of, “apologies” and then an offer to correct the incorrect, would have been a simple solution. (What I could have done different!? Would have been to check my order before leaving the premises.

Loved the atmosphere and antique decor! I live nearby and finally had a chance to try it out with a friend I hadn’t seen in almost a year.
The service was top notch, very welcoming like what is known as southern hospitality.
My order looked very basic, but it was very flavorful. I ordered the giant pancake, a very fried egg and smoked sausage. The sausage looked kind of burned, but when I tasted it, it was my favorite part of my breakfast. I want another one!
My friend ordered an omelette with potatoes. She really liked it too.
I will definitely be returning, but this time I’ll take my family.

This 5 stars is earned for Big Ed’s breakfast options. If you’re looking for a delicious country breakfast, this is 100% your go to. It’s not gonna have your New York Florentine or Benedict, but what it does do is the best country home breakfast you can find in the area: including Apex, Cary, Morrisville.

The home fries are crisp on the outside and thoroughly tender on the inside, the sandwiches are all great. The pancakes are massive and one is enough for two people. Eggs cooked the way you order with all the county meats you’d expect. My only disappointment is the corned beef hash but that’s because I’m totally spoiled making my own from scratch using real corned beef so I can’t eat the canned stuff anymore. The servers are all delightful as are the rest of staff. They even do prime rib on occasion which was not overcooked – tender, well seasoned – it was delicious. Have a great morning at Big Ed’s or breakfast any time of day and their lunch and dinner options are great too, but this stands out for breakfast (to me).

Let’s get one thing straight: I have only heard of this place in passing and it never gets the praise it deserves.

The beef bologna biscuit?! Flawless.

The fried Cajun chicken biscuit?! Unbelievable.

If you haven’t been here yet, you’re doing yourself a disservice. I’d call it a local Cracker Barrel. That’s what it’s most similar to, but it stands on its own as an incredible restaurant in the area and I will go out of my way to come here from now on.

Kudos to the entire place!

Stopped by heading out of town and the food was tasty. Great country breakfast food., it’s located in a strip mall and is much bigger inside than it looks. Overall great food and good service. I forgot to take pictures. French toast was decent, corned beef hash, eggs and apples were tasty.

We love coming here because it’s like eating at your grandma’s kitchen, from the omelettes to the chicken pastry. The portions are massive so best to bring your appetite. The servers are always crazy fast and super friendly. And the banana pudding is a must have, highly recommend.

I ordered lunch yesterday off the daily specials. The country steak was really good, but they gave me the wrong side & the dessert was missing. When you pay $15 for a lunch, you expect it to be correct. My fault for not checking through all the plates. Won’t make that mistake again.

Definitely not a place to return. Menu is all over the place and meal options force you to add a la carte items driving up the price. Not one meal option gives you eggs/meat/potatoes so you have to piece together from the menu. The menu also has NO kid options so again forced to a la carte stuff driving up the price. My French toast was soggy/raw inside and not good at all. Very mid experience and left completely dissatisfied after spending $70 for myself, my wife, and toddler. Crazy

The food was wonderful. Nice change from all the others. Service was good, the atmosphere was very laid back, suggest everyone to try it. Clean & friendly which is priority. Good old fashioned down to earth southern cooking. I will be going back & telling friends & family about it.
I had the catfish cooked perfect, it was nice & moist not all dried out like most places, fries, slaw & pickled beets & dessert comes with the meal so I had banana pudding, it was homemade & sweet tea. My friend had chicken pastry which looked delicious she even said it tastes like hers, looked wonderful, collards, yams & banana pudding also with sweet tea our bill came to less than $30.00 plus tip.
