Social Profile:

Known as the old Cave Creek gas station, Big Earl’s Greasy Eats was designed as a station for Standard Oil in 1935 and patented in 1936. In 1936, Phoenix had 127 service stations, 14 of which were Standard Oil stations. Today, the Cave Creek station, Big Earl’s Greasy Eats, is the only known surviving example of a 1930s art deco Standard gas station in the greater Phoenix metropolis. Now a world famous restaurant, the former station originally was located on 19th Avenue in Phoenix and was moved to Cave Creek in 1952. It functioned as a Standard station until the late 1980s. Open 364 days a year, Big Earl’s Greasy Eats serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Full bar, candy shop next door, and free drive in movies every week.

I live out of state, but every time I visit the Phoenix area, I make it a point to eat here. I’ve had many different items from the menu and all have been delicious and cooked to perfection. Also, the boozy milkshakes are out of this world. The prices are good, the staff are always friendly and I love the retro, laid back vibe. Earl’s is an absolute gem, and I hope they have MANY more years of success.

Not a fan of charcoal piece in my burger. It’s like the grill was dirty. The dog ate it. The fries were so greasy, trash ate it. The cheese curds heavy breading.
Want good cheese curds and burgers? Go to The Spot on Bell rd!
I wont be back to eat but the unicorn cider was yummy!

Great burgers and exceptional onion rings. Old gas station converted. Interesting outdoor patio with the Old pumps adjacent. Needs a good power washing but good stuff.

Very cool old school 50’s gas station layout with outstanding burgers. Super crispy fries with house made Ranch to top them off. Lisa was great and told me about the family candy store next door. Super nostalgic place with a great selection of candy. Drive on Past those corporate restaurants and head to Cave Creek for a very good family dining experience.

Landed upon Big Earl’s from my wife scrolling TikTok. Thank goodness she did. From the moment we walked in we knew we in the right place. We are west siders(Peoria) always looking for the non-chain spots to eat. I had the gut buster and the misses had the black and bleu, cheese curds on the side. No kidding the burgers are huge and delicious. Cooked to order and doneness. We headed to the candy shop to pick up some vintage sweets and a shirt. To sum it up, it’s great. Eat there. Support locals.

It was the best party melt in cave creek and fries were super yummy! We stopped in after a late afternoon drive to horse shoe lake on a Monday night. It was nice that it wasn’t super crowded, and that they had inside dinner (it’s a little chili tonight) the patty melt, well it was perfect and i ate every single bite! Fries were fabulous. Service was fast, and friendly.
We very much enjoyed our food and the atmosphere. Love the Lucy in the chocolate factory clock! Imagine being in the Choctaw factory with Lucy, that would be super cool!
Highly recommend this place for a good greasy burger!

Super cool old gas station turned dinner. Pretty fairly priced, a good typically burger. The Cajun fries are very good! Would definitely recommend the milkshakes and malts. They have plenty of covered seating with misters in the summer time. Check out there candy store right next door
