This place is a true gem!!! We stopped on the way home from the black sands beach. The hot dogs are amazing, the owner is very kind, and gave his rec for the Portuguese Big Lorenzo….it was so good. My hubs had the Pineapple Sausage with Sriracha sauce. We walked through the flower garden while we waited, and it was beautiful and very peaceful. We both were very happy with the food, service, and great vibes. Mahalo, friend

We stopped here on the way from Volcanoes to Kona side and sought this place out based on prior reviews. It did not disappoint. The owner is extremely friendly and the hot dogs were amazing. I got the pineapple pork and my family got the originals. Best hot dogs we ever had and one of the most memorable stops on our vacation (BI and Oahu).
This place truly deserves their 5 star rating. Make stopping here a priority if you are in the area. Amazing experience!

Amazing hot dog stand on the side of the road at the south point road turn off. It also has a U-pick flower garden to pick your own boquets.

This place is amazing. A must stop to get a dog. It was very busy when we got there. I can see why. A one man show on the side of the road in a make shift food truck. Tables to eat your hot dog at. He even has baked potatoes! Very nice setting. You get to choose what you want on your hot dog. Amazing. Keep your eye out for the flag banners on the road. It’s easy to drive past.

Stopped by Big Dog’s Hot Dogs and were blown away! We tried the all-beef jumbo dog and the Portuguese Big Lorenzo local style—both were absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality. The cook prepped everything fresh, slicing all the toppings right in front of us. Huge portions and packed with flavor.
While waiting for the dogs, we got to stroll through his wife’s gorgeous flower garden, which was such a pleasant surprise. You can even buy flowers right from the garden, making the stop even more special.
Incredible food, warm hospitality, and a unique local experience you won’t get anywhere else. Definitely worth a visit!

If you’re in the area, just go. Incredible vibes, great conversation, perfect recommendations, and terrific food. No chance you’ll leave here without a smile on your face. Wish I were local so I could come hang here regularly. Got the Portuguese the recommended way and didn’t regret it – dare I say it was better than those back home in nyc!
