Big Dipper Ice Cream is a hidden gem located on the second floor of a small shopping mall with plenty of easy parking. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed by Noah, an enthusiastic and friendly employee who gave us a mini tour of their unique, homemade flavors.
We sampled quite a few — Matcha Mochi Magic, Fireweed & Honey, Alaska Wild Berry, Bearly Awake, Razzle Dazzle, Hi Ho Cherry O, Chocolate, and Reese’s Peanut Butter Blast — and every single one stood out. The flavors were rich but not overly sweet, with just the right balance of creaminess and flavor. The waffle cones were another highlight — freshly made, buttery, and crisp.
Prices are reasonable, especially for the quality and freshness of the ice cream. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this is a must-stop in Wasilla, Alaska. Highly recommend!

I’ve been in Alaska a few years now. I was told Alaskans love their coffee and their ice cream. This place is a testament to that love for ice cream. Some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had is from this place. The varying array of flavors made with local ingredients is definitely a reason to keep going back. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite spots for ice-cream in Alaska. Each of the five people in my group ordered a different flavor, and they were all delicious. Even so, the fresh waffle cones beat the ice cream itself! Cute atmosphere and friendly staff.
