I stumbled upon Big Dipper during a mid-morning lull before a meeting, and my curiosity was piqued by the establishment’s cleanliness and enticing aroma. Opting for a double scoop in a cup, I selected Madagascar Vanilla Bean and Dark Chocolate. Both flavors boasted a luxurious velvety texture and creamy consistency, striking a perfect balance of sweetness. I found the Dark Chocolate to be more satisfying, while the Madagascar Vanilla Bean left me wondering if the name might be misleading – perhaps a bolder, more exotic flavor profile would better align with my expectations. The price point of $6.48 (with tax) for two scoops felt somewhat premium, though not unjustifiably so. Despite this, the pleasant service and welcoming atmosphere have already secured my return – I’m eager to further explore Big Dipper’s offerings and refine my opinions.

P.S. Scoops were generous and provided phote was taken after several bites.

We are long time customers at the Sand Springs location.
We’ve loved this little local ice cream shop since they opened their first location there. They’ve always got really delicous and well balanced flavors as well as a quality thick and creamy consistancy.
I would usually have nothing but nice things to say about the service here but this last saturday evening we dealt with a rude and uncorroporative younger girl (straight blonde hair; double nose peircing; slender; wearing a blue-ish V-neck T-shirt). This unfortunately hasn’t been the only time we’ve dealt with younger adults with attitude problems working here, otherwise i wouldn’t be bothering to leave a review about it.

This girl seemed nice and welcoming at first but when we tried to get her help with finding something to put our 4 year old sons ice cream cup in (so that we could store what he didn’t finish into our cooler and make our 35 minute drive back home) she just got annoyed that my husband kept requesting her help and she seemed eager to continue helping the other customers instead. Just brushing him off everytime. It took him asking three seperate times before he finally just had to point at a clear plastic cup behind the counter and ask more firmly to be handed one before she reluctantly gave it to him while full of attitude.

I understand that young people don’t know what it’s like to spend a whole day away from home juggling two young children (a 4yr & 7mo old to be exact) and their interrupted schedules all day long but the last thing my husband and I wanted to deal with was some blown out of proportion issue from some attitude filled teenager. We already dealt with that all day from our 4 year old and we just wanted to come in and enjoy one of our favorite treats from our favorite local ice cream shop.

Hopefully this location can find better more professional employees in the near future because its getting to the point where we don’t even want to bother coming in anymore. Customer service is SO important to keeping these small businesses alive. Especially ice cream shops whose main business is families and children.

We really liked this place, and the praise comes, of course, from the ice cream. The main difference was that the ice cream was not insanely sweet and overwhelming. Instead, everything had a unique subtly to them, where you could taste individual flavors without being overwhelmed by sweet/sugar. I’m really impressed with this place, and we would definitely visit again if we are in the area.

Okay, I have to say hands down the best shake ever. I tried the roasted strawberry, and it was worth every calorie. My husband had the vanilla bean malt. He went from low hopes that it would be good to wanting a second one. This is a must try place, and you don’t have to drive to Mother Road Market place to experience it.

Maybe it’s the word “creamery” that always makes these ice cream parlors outshine the rest. This one also does. The inside is decorated nostalgically and smells great. Then out comes a super-cute little sweetheart to serve you and offer chocolate milk to enhance your mint chip milkshake. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Great selections. Went about a year ago and just now found the photos! Been craving the honeycomb lavender ever since. Creamy, local treat for the win!

I walked into this place and it smelled delicious as they were making the waffle cones. The variety of flavors of amazing. Hard to pick one. I chose the cookie butter cookie dough. It is delicious. The ice cream is smooth and creamy. I have to come back. The staff was so polite.
