We were recommended this seafood restaurant and while it was an hour drive for us it was definitely worth it. The food was good, the service was excellent and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing! We had the build your own plate with 3 entree choices and hush puppies, slaw and choice of potatoes ( baked potato, sweet potato or French fries). We also had fried pickles as our appetizer. Our waitress Ms Kelly was so pleasant and helpful.

I like this place overall. The food is good not quite great, but definitely satisfying. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the staff make you feel right at home. The atmosphere is pleasant and comfortable, making it a nice spot for a casual seafood meal. With just a bit more flavor or polish in the dishes, this could easily be a 5-star experience.

My daughter and I drove from Shelby NC-This was our first time eating here. I have been searching for a fish place that has a decent menu and an option of grilled or broiled dishes instead of just fried foods. The grilled salmon was fantastic and my baked potato was nice and soft. Miranda was our server, and though she was very busy, she made sure we had our sweet tea topped off. I will definitely go back again!

My wife and I stopped in to eat at Big Dave’s Family Seafood after our trip to Hendersonville NC to the Apple Festival!
This was our second time eating here and as the first time it was delicious! Our waitress was very helpful and did a great job ! If you’re near Big Dave’s stop in and give them a go !

Just left Big Dave’s for the first time and I definitely left with my stomach full. My Husband ordered a platter with everything in the world on it, he said, “it was perfect”. I ordered some chicken wings fried extra crispy and a chef salad…. I enjoyed my salad and the ranch dressing is homemade so, I loved it. However, my wings were still gooey. I ate 2 of them and decided that I would just take the rest home and finish them off in the air fryer. Ms. Bonnie was our server, she is a doll baby…. She never let our cup go empty and every time she passed our table, she asked if we needed anything. She’s very welcoming and made us feel comfortable. “We’re African American” When we walked in, I didn’t see anyone that looked like us and about walked out. I’m glad we decided to stay. Lol, other black people came in and sat right behind us. They said, they were regulars. We live over a hour and a half away but I promise, we will be back!

We drive 40+ minutes from Morganton to eat here. Best seafood in the western part of the state! Large portions and reasonable prices. Friendly and attentive wait staff. The wait can get a little long during peak dining times, but still worth it.

Ordered take out on a busy Saturday night. Only had to wait about 25 minutes for the order. Did have an issue with finding somewhere to park. ( Several people seemed to be circling to fight over a space. Saw a man & wife, in different cars, looking for parking but left when it was unavailable. She blew the horn several times & they both seemed frustrated ♀️) Food was delicious. Huge portions. Price was nice too. Definitely freshly cooked food! Will be returning & would definitely recommend to all!

My family and I ate at Big Dave’s Seafood on the Saturday before Christmas. The staff were all friendly and our waitress was amazing. My wife is very picky about fried oysters and we have been searching for a place that has them to her liking. This is the perfect place. She loved them and we will be making the hour drive often.

The food at Big Dave’s is always good. The prices are very reasonable and you will not leave hungry. I’ve been going to Big Dave’s regularly for over a year. The only negative thing I have to say is, I was disappointed with the shrimp cocktail. I got 6 barely medium sized shrimp spaced out on a bed of lettuce with sauce in the middle. It was not worth $7 and certainly not sufficient size for 2 adults. It was really a miss in comparison to how wonderful everything else is. I still love you Big Dave’s but work on that shrimp cocktail ❤️

A great southern family restaurant. They serve up mostly fish but also have other entrees to chose from. The fish is always good and hot. It is served up fast. Waiters check to make sure customers need anything and always make sure the glasses are filled. The atmosphere is nice and they can accommodate large groups.
