When we got here the place was packed, it’s around 10am. Tables opened up quickly and the staff was diligently helping seat everyone waiting. The food was delicious. We ordered biscuits and gravy which actually the best we’ve had in south texas. The mini fideo which was not mini, it was 16oz! The menudo needed nothing, lots of meat and not filled with hominy. This is a small restaurant with big flavor. A must stop if you’re in Brownsville!

I’ve been here a handful of times and the food is consistently great. The service has always been good. One time I had a novice server so I had to cut her some slack. She still did pretty good. The price is a little higher than I like to spend but I don’t mind paying a little more for quality good and good service.

Love the theme of the restaurant. The food is okay. The beans taste like can refried beans. The hash browns were great. Coffee tastes great. Just be careful when they ask what kind of side you want (tortillas, toast, etc.) The waitress offered my husband all the options and he picked a flour tortilla, which ended up being nearly $4. It got hard and tough to eat pretty fast, so definitely not worth it.

Ordered via DoorDash. Chicken was very moist and flavorful!!! Everything cooked great! Edit! This was our first of three orders in 2 weeks at this restaurant. First one was great 2nd order was missing any toppings on grilled chicken and chicken fried chicken had NO gravy! Third time ordering they DID NOT put gravy on the country fried steak and they chose not to wrap the toast (they did the other times) instead they put it directly on top of our food which made it so soggy! Won’t even mention ignoring the request for butter for the corn! NO consistency! Would not recommend unless maybe dining in so you’re able to insist on getting what’s advertised! Not ordering from here a fourth time I PROMISE!

Two location bocachica its really nice old building. Morrison new building different vibes. I have try almost all menu really good i can’t recommend only one plate. Ate dinner at Big Daddy’s and the food was great and the service was good. Started off with fried mushrooms for an appetizer and then ordered the tampiquena plate. The portions were filling and the sweet tea was just right and refreshing. They also have breakfast all day and the have ice cream cones for dessert Awesome place. Would definitely go back

11•2•24 came in for breakfast, and It was ok. The flour tortillas are so hard they don’t stay warm they get stiffed. I asked for over medium eggs and meh! Still watery on side you can’t see so makes me yack!. I hate when you tell them and explain what you want they repeat and understand you but, when ordered comes to you it is as If they didn’t translate it to the cook, But perhaps did not related it. And when it comes to bringing it, it does not meet what was expected. So yea I was dissapointed on my meal the prices are very high for any of their food I feel they are over rated since its just popular and to me the service is just bring food and thats it. And this is the service you get and what you will pay for. Yes, presintation is sometimes deceiving. Sometimes it is a hit or miss, but i hate miss.. and leave upset for paying what you really didn’t ask for.

It was a bit bland, and no flavor still needed spices and salt, so it was there. Will I go and order this exact dish again? No.. they have done better in the past, but not this time. There is too much for this and no drink.
ell we came to eat their carne guisado plate and well it was meh! Kinda bland it needed salt. You could taste a lot of the flour when they make the gravy, so it wasn’t all that great. The flour tortillas tasted preheated and not freshly made, so when they heat it up has a bad burnt taste, it kills thentaste of the food, leaving a bitter taste in your mouth I don’t like the way they serve the side salad on the dish because the salad is old tastes like the bag and it been sitting in the icebox for some time you can taste that it is old. As far as the rice, it’s good, but what makes the dish look so sad is the way it is served like a sand castle on a cup form. Just makes it look not that appetizing overall my dish wasn’t the best needs improvement the presintation is deceiving looks ok but taste bland and no taste and the meat was hard was not soft at all so yeah need improvement in my own opinion if nit you be the judge. But tortillas are not worth the price either. You can see on the photo that it looks hard and is just stiff. I think it was way overcharged. it’s not worth it at all. For 2 dishes, the same with 1 softdrink, the total was like 35.00 and was not worth the price.
Very good food, service, staff, and well served. I recommend this restaurant, I’d go back. I finally tried their banana split. They must try y’all enough for 2 people or by yourself very well served. Thank you, Big Daddys.
