We shared a three meat platter and were plenty filled up. Brisket is great with good smoke ring and fork tender to eat. All three meats were better than 4-5 other joints we have tried in the valley at a much better price. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Service even though busy was quick.

Came in for some brisket and did not check my food as I only bought brisket. When I got home, it was burnt and dry as a bone. I was told they cut it fresh which as you can see was not the case. I called to talk to the owner and never got a call back. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Big Daddy’s never disappoints, and their new Boise location lives up to the hype. The BBQ is freshly smoked and packed with flavor, with plenty of tasty sides and a great happy hour to match. There were 6 of us and we ordered the family platter, which comes with 4 oz of each delicious meat: smoked chicken thigh, smoked turkey, brisket, pulled pork, two types of sausage, and tri tip, plus four cornbread muffins and two sides. We chose the mac & cheese and loaded mashed potatoes—both excellent. My wife had the turkey sandwich with onion rings (one of the best turkey sandwiches around), and our little one loved the brisket slider kids meal.
Everything tasted great, though the platter came out a bit on the cooler side. The staff handled it well and even gave us a small discount without us asking, which we appreciated. My go-to sauces are the house-made Carolina and the spicy BBQ, but it’s worth trying them all to find your favorite.
Overall, high-quality BBQ with friendly service—definitely recommend checking them out!

Did not anticipate incredible Texas style bbq from a spot in Idaho. Tons of great options that allow for sampling a bit of all the menu and sharing. Nice selection of local and craft beers on tap. All the meats were smoky, rich, flavorful. Loved the variety of bbq sauces on the table. Sides were flavorful, fresh, wholesome, and exactly what you would expect from a good bbq joint. Service could not have been beat. Turned out to be one of the most memorable and delicious meals we shared on a cross country road trip. Definitely recommend and would visit again on another trip to Idaho.

Great barbecue and service. We had brisket tacos, pulled pork sandwich, half brisket half pulled pork sandwich, bacon mac and cheese, and fries. The tacos and fries were amazing, I would go back just for the fries. All the food was delicious and the service was great. Restaurant and restrooms were super clean. They have extra paper towels and barbecue sauces on the table for you. I felt like the price were reasonable to other barbecue places. Overall, it’s a great barbecue place and will definitely go back.

We stopped into Big Daddy’s BBQ for the first time during a busy rush, and even though they seemed a bit short-staffed, they absolutely nailed it! We ordered the Rodeo Burger and the Gouda Mushroom Burger — both came out perfectly cooked. The bacon was 10/10 (seriously some of the best I’ve had), and the patties were juicy and full of flavor.
Their BBQ sauce options were awesome, and the green beans were some of the best I’ve ever had. We did have a small hiccup with my mac n cheese coming out cold, but as soon as I mentioned it, they fixed it right away with a fresh, piping hot one and wow, that bacon mac n cheese is to die for! I was so glad I got to experience how good it really is (can’t wait to air fry the leftovers ).
Overall, we really enjoyed our visit. The location is great, the design is super cute, and the employees all seemed genuinely happy to be there

Southside’s Finest
I am thankful this place isn’t advertised as a southern bbq restaurant because this review would be way more critical. Whoever is cutting the brisket needs to be taught how to cut better because there’s no way yall. There’s just no way. The sausages definitely ain’t bbq and are as far from bbq as Maine is from Washington State. You can’t just put some sausages in a pan and fry them up then call it bbq. That’s not how that works. Also need to look at some recipes on properly making Cole slaw and green beans with bacon and onions too. Because there’s just no way. Overall, I do regret coming here. I would have been better off going to Dickeys bbq. Or just saving my money and just eating a sandwich. The service was good tho. It’s also my fault for expecting something great. If this place was anywhere in Texas they would be out of business in 43 days.

My server was great! I did come in 20 before closing but my tip was generous. But the food quality was not like it usually is probably cause it was close to closing. The bus boy was complaining about people coming in late. Chris was awesome as a server and it wasn’t his fault. Sorry for coming in 20 before closing but you should always withhold your reputation.

I have eaten at Big Daddy’s approximately 10 times. I have always had a positive experiences with the staff! My food has always been delicious. I especially like their affordable lunch specials. I usually get a pulled pork sandwich with garlic parmesan fries. Keep up the good work!
