Big City Bread Cafe has been part of the downtown Athens community for over 20 years. Locally owned and operated, we strive to provide our customers with delicious food in a casual atmosphere. Our expansive outdoor patio is a highlight on a nice weather day where you can enjoy locally roasted coffee and fresh baked items from our bakery department. We have a menu for every part of the day including specialty drinks and coffees and beer and wine. We offer counter service for brunch/lunch all day with plenty of seating on our patio to enjoy whichever meal you choose! Fabulous, the french toast was very orange flavored and both moist and crispy. The gravy was herbed up and very good as well. The apricot almond pastry was the showstopper (not pictured, ate immediately), but the food and service was all great. Will be returning

Was in town visiting and stopped in for brunch, got a birds nest, sausage, half an avocado, fruit, and a london fog, genuinely one of the best breakfast platters I’ve gotten, and the london fog definitely was the best I’ve had. Wish I lived in GA so I could eat here every day, please check it out!!

They did it again!!!! You ever felt like there was a party of flavors and textures in your mouth…if not…your missing out!!! This dish here was an amazing treat today… Mediterranean chicken kabobs.. grilled chicken perfectly cooked.. crispy outside tender inside!! Fire roasted red peppers grilled red onions and cherry tomatoes over a bed of quinoa salad topped with there classic chimichurriand my favorite feta cheese!!!! There a reason this is there special!!!! Packed flavors and textures it was the best lunch in a while I guess since the last time I was here . Don’t forget the fries either !!! there not little pieces like them other places that’s for sure ..crispy with a hint of garlic!!! Take the time to make your self happy and come enjoy what I just did!! They have great desserts as well! It’s a beautiful day to have a beautiful meal!!

I called today to see what the brunch wait would be. The person said 25 minutes. I arrived with my family within 5 minutes of that call. We waited in line to order for 45 minutes. When we arrived at the register the cashier told us that once we ordered it would be another 45 minutes to get our food. I expressed that this is something they should tell us when we get in line, not after we wait 45 minutes. She shrugged and said something along the lines of “I’ll let my manager know you feel this way”. We ordered 4 iced lattes to go, 20 minutes into the 30 minute wait for the coffees one of the four people in our party wanted to change their latte order to hot instead of iced. I told the lady making the coffees and she said “I’m glad you said something because “they” rang them all up as hot”. We were there for an hour and 15 minutes and only left with 4 coffees and a sugar cookie.

This place was very homey and welcoming, truly a great southern hospitality atmosphere. Food came out promptly and the staff was extremely helpful. Great pricing! Good avocado toast and continental breakfast fresh grapefruit. Highlight of the visit was definitely Stan! He made sure to save our large group a table before we even ordered and then tended to us like his own children! I’m a Stan of Stan!

This place was AMAZING! There was a little line, but it moved very quickly. We barely had a time to set down before our food was being brought to us. The French Toast is amazing, and it makes you want more. And if you’re not an alcoholic drinker like me, get the Orange Creamescicle drink! The only problem with it was that there wasn’t free refills! The outside dining area is amazing on a beautiful day. If you haven’t tried this place, you must!

I love breakfast sandwiches on biscuits sooo much and I usually get them from fast food places. So, of course, I ordered the biscuit sandwich from here and lemme tell you it was one of the biggest biscuits I’ve ever seen! It was so incredibly soft with a perfectly crispy and buttery outside. I got egg, sausage, and cheese, and it’s probably the best biscuit sandwich I’ve had in awhile! Definitely recommend! The whole menu looks good btw!
