Our visit to Big B’s was interesting. We are both from the south and have been trying to find decent bbq out here.

We tried the lean brisket and pull pork sandwich. The sandwich was good – the tables come with a mustard bbq sauce and a hickory bbq sauce that you can add to your meat. The coleslaw was very good but the Mac and cheese left much to be desired.

As for the lean brisket, it was tender which was nice but also dry – nothing that the bbq sauce couldn’t solve. Surprisingly, the green beans were a 10/10.

I think I can see why some people love it here but I can also see the other side of things as well. Pretty mid but we have definitely had worse. The service was great though.

Big B’s Texas BBQ on St Rose Parkway has been serving Henderson since 2016, and they keep things straightforward and consistent. The focus is clearly on low-and-slow smoked meats with no shortcuts.

I ordered the 3 meat plate with brisket, tri-tip, and chicken. The brisket and chicken were both solid, but the tri-tip was the standout for me — very tender and full of flavor. If I went back, I’d probably double or triple up on that.

The sides were classic barbecue staples like mac and cheese, baked beans, slaw, and cornbread. Nothing overcomplicated, just traditional pairings that complement the plate.

It’s counter service, casual, and open daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Overall, a steady, no-frills Texas-style BBQ option in Henderson.

The fried okra keeps me coming back here over and over again! My boyfriend literally said let’s go have barbecue in the first thing in my mouth is fried okra? And his response was Big B’s?

This place is always welcoming, and I love that the TVs always have some sort of sports replay game playing. There’s also normally country music playing which we both enjoy.

I got the two meat combo, which comes with two meats and two sides. Today I went with brisket, tri-tip, fried okra, and mac and cheese. This was probably the best mac and cheese I’ve had from there, sometimes it’s a little older or dried out but today was absolutely amazing.

I ended up taking some of my brisket and mixing it into my mac and cheese, with some spicy barbecue sauce. Make sure to ask for the spicy barbecue sauce at the counter. It’s hot but good.

Good but not great. Both the brisket and sausage could have had more smoke to them. Potato salad was very good but the bbq beans had way too much what tasted like tomato sauce in them and were quite frankly bad. I’m from Texas so maybe I’m judging a little harsh. But hey, if you’re calling yourself Texas BBQ I expected it to be a little better.

Big B’s Texas BBQ served up hearty, flavorful comfort food with that classic Texas-style charm. The meats were tender and smoky, with great seasoning and generous portions. The sides were fresh and satisfying, and everything tasted like it was made with care. Service was friendly and efficient, creating a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Overall, a great spot if you’re craving authentic, no-frills barbecue.

The food not all that great. #6 Brisket Poboy sucked. The bread roll should be grilled or toasted. It was just straight from the bag. Husband had #1 brisket combo plate. The fries were over fried and I did not touch them. I didnt want to chip a tooth. The Mac & chz side was good. It was homemade. The texas ranch style beans were good. The flavor was spot on with that. The beer and soda was awesome. I do not think we would return.

*NOTE: We recently tried Wild Fig BBQ in Summerlin, and it was the BEST BBQ that we’ve had here in the valley in a VERY long time! PLEASE don’t waste your time or money at Big B’s BBQ.

This was the third time giving this establishment a try, and it will definitely be the last for me and my family.

The first time wasn’t memorable, but we decided to try again. The second time was the worse! Food dry, proportions inconsistent, AND a HUGE metal object was found in our mac and cheese. (We later found out that it had been from their refrigerator and had broken loose.) The third time sealed the deal.

Upon finding the metal in our mac and cheese, we reached out to the store and spoke with a VERY pleasant male manager. He was willing to help, stating that he was sorry and wanted to remake our meals and refund our money, but he thought it best to reach out to his boss and have her to rectify the matter. We spoke with Natalia, who was not empathetic. The male manager seemed concerned that this foreign object had been found in our mac and cheese, not the owner Natalia. Natalia did apologize for the issue and explained what the piece was and where it has came from, but it was more matter of fact with a tone that was very formal, again, which lacked empathy. Natalia offered to give us two plates on a future visit for the trouble with no mention of refunding us, like the male manager had suggested. We initially declined, as we did not want to try this place out again after that issue, especially thinking in terms of sanitation and cleanliness, and we were okay with the decision. Natalia insisted on giving us the two plates, and so, we decided to accept the offer for a future return. Natalia instructed us to text or call her at the provided number when we’d like to receive the two plates and said that she’d be sure to get it all setup for us at the restaurant. We weren’t thrilled to have to go about it in this way, but there seemed to be nothing else that we could do at that point.

Fast forward a bit and we had been running around all day for Christmas and nothing had been cooked for dinner or decided on, so we thought that we’d give Big B’s the opportunity to make it right with the two plates. We text Natalia a very friendly text with the details of what we’d like for the two plates, and we receive in writing what one would expect after communicating with her via telephone… the message was short and dry. We provided her with a time that we would arrive for the meal and upon arrival the meals were not completed and the staff had no clue what we were talking about. We showed them the text from Natalia, and they contacted her regarding it and decided after that they would make the plates (see pics), but what we received was awful! We received a tiny amount of turkey, a small handful of pulled pork and a few thin pieces of brisket. The only great thing was the cream style corn. The plates looked like they were incomplete, thrown together and not the proper portions for a three meat plate.

Natalia did reach back out to us to ask how everything was, but tbh, we felt at the time, silence was golden because we had nothing good to say about the experience. On top of the scare with the metal object on our second visit, we were made to feel humiliated on the third one, which was intended to make up for the second visit!

All in all, we would never return to Big B’s BBQ for another insult. We’re sure that our review and lack of patronage will not stop it’s growth or hurt its bottom line, but it should be said that ALL customers deserve better than what we received on three visits there. We deserve stellar, safe service without compromising. Big B’s BBQ dropped the ball several times and could use more training on proper sanitation, cleanliness, customer service and follow-through. I’m hoping that Big B’s BBQ will do better, as they owe it to the many customers who choose to spend their hard earned monies there and deserve the best.

The service was really good. The register person was so helpful. The food on the other hand was not so good. Beef ribs were tuff, baby back ribs were dry, but the brisket was really good. Bbq beans had a weird taste, corn bread was ok. Potato salad was pretty good along with the cream corn. But don’t think I’ll go back.

So I ordered a loaded baked potato with chicken. I started with a small portion of the potatoes and was chewing and felt something hard and turns out multiple chicken bones were in the potato. In the future please make sure to thoroughly go through the meat and ensure the grisle and bones are removed so teeth are not broken or chipped or prevent choking. Very disappointed.

Big B’s BBQ is absolutely worth a stop if you’re craving solid, no-nonsense barbecue in a relaxed, family-friendly setting. Trip tip: come hungry and a little early if you can—this place gets busy for a reason.

The brisket was tender, smoky, and packed with flavor without being overly sauced, exactly how good BBQ should be. The baby back ribs were fall-off-the-bone delicious with just the right balance of smoke and seasoning. Pair it all with a Shiner Bock on tap, and you’re set.

What really makes Big B’s stand out is the welcoming vibe. Plenty of seating, casual atmosphere, and a setup that makes it great for families or groups without feeling rushed. Friendly service and consistently good food make this an easy go-to.

If you’re a BBQ fan or just passing through and want something reliable and satisfying, Big B’s BBQ should be on your list.
