omgggggg!!! This pie was SOOO good. My guests were saying this is the best pie they EVER had. I got two last min pumpkin pie for thanksgiving. Super affordable only $48, they were so nice and even let me pick it up after closing because of my work schedule. Jose the owner was very kind and you can tell he takes a lot of pride in what he does 🙂
I also got a chocolate chip cookie and dirty chai that hitttt

I actually just found this place from Tik Tok and thought the name was funny. And then I saw that Sex and The City/ Just Like That did a bakery inspired from them so it made me want to check it out. SO WORTH IT!! Wayyyy better than the TV show. This place has been open for 20 years!! So happy to support a small local biz 🙂 absolutely will be ordering again.

This place has been on my must go list for a while now, so I was over the moon to finally stop in. I made it right before close and there were sooooo many goodies still available AND a fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies fresh out of the oven. Definitely stocked up on those and some other treats and the staff were soooo fun and friendly, I will add this as a regular stop going forward.

I stopped by here on valentines day to grab my boyfriend something since I wanted to bring him a sweet treat back from the city. My friend who works at inked down the street recommended me to here. We didn’t eat the cookies till a day later and they were still so delicious and soft. the center was gooey and some of the best cookies I’ve ever had. I got a chocolate chip, kitchen sink and red velvet and they were all equally delicious. Definitely stop by here. We will stop by here every time we are in the area!

We’ve never had a good experience or product at this place. Although we have given it several tries, we are consistently disappointed. Our first bad experience was asking what varieties of cupcakes were available, the counter person just pointed to the direction of the cupcake display. On another occasion, when the door was open, we were rudely told “we’re closed.” Most recently we purchased a dulce de leche cupcake that was stale, dry, not much flavor and skimpy on the icing. After reading other unfavorable reviews, we must agree the customer service is awful Any other items we’ve tried have been unimpressive. We live on the same block, the place never seems busy-so it’s no wonder the inventory seems stale and considering the customer service-no big surprise!!

This is a wonderful bakery. Even though I came in fairly late and didn’t expect many options, they were well stocked, and the woman who helped me was extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the red velvet cupcakes—they are easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The prices are very affordable, and the quality of the baked goods surpasses that of many upscale bakeries with overpriced items.

I love how kind of hidden away this place is. I haven’t tried their coffee so I can’t say anything about that but all their baked goods look and smell so so good. I’ve had the cookies here and they strike tge perfect balance of chewy and crunchy. The caramel one is my favorite mostly because the red velvet didn’t taste so much like red velvet.

In my opinion some days it’s a five and some days it’s a four. I think it depends on who is behind the counter that day and sometimes not all the baked goods are equals. Putting all of that to the side, my number one favorite is the DULCE DE LECHE and number two would be the MERINGUES. A basic baked item but very important in my 4:OO tea is the custard tarts. It’s simple elegance. I wished that custard was a little richer like our southern cook made but that’s the south. We like sweet items taste sweet and not subtle. It’s the richness that makes a little item become so cherished. Now on sweetness the Tres leche is perfect. It has the right balance of the three ingredients that make this southern dish, southern as in South America, sing is the perfect blend of leches. Another thing I like at tea are spiced breads such as pumpkin, banana and in the UK nut breads. The key here is to buy them the day they are made. While talking about buying in the day it was made, one problem here is the bags etc they use to package the items from home don’t keep them fresh. You must transfer to Tupperware or cling film or even freeze them. All southerners and Brits know that freezing certain cakes and breads make taste fresher when served. The famous five layer fudge cake from Thalhimers in Virginia even came with instructions on freezing. Cup cakes are very popular here. I know it’s a fad to put a dollop of icing on top instead of spreading it to the edge of the cup but when it’s done that way you are sealing in freshness. But they sale fast here so I guess freshness is important that day since I see many customers eating them as they go down 23rd. This place is like your mother’s kitchen there are many items that are divine with a few you might not like but others adore. But just like your mother’s kitchen you know here that the items here are made from love. If you are ever lucky to meet the owner(s) you will find them dedicated and ebullient to their mission of serving quality baked goods for Chelseans both in MANHATTAN AND LONDON. I gave them four stars originally but in writing and reflecting ( and EATING ) on their delicious baked goods with a pot of Twinings I have smiled the whole time with my jolly belly smiling so FIVE STARS IT IS. I would recommend having a tea on a weekend with friends and buy your items here, buy your favorite tea and now days you have to add a green tea plus a bottle of prosecco set it out on a table cloth and the conversation will pour itself. I wished that they had a TEA BOX to go with simple delicacies cut in smaller squares for those of us who would like to enjoy a tea at the park or wherever. Of course it would have to be pre ordered with an additional premium for the cost. I could easily put a savory together for contrast and a thermos of creamed tea. Oh well I digress but that’s why I have almost 8 million readers to check me out. I try to review a place and share some tidbits. In the beginning I just would write: great steak, bad fries, good service blah blah but now I try to have more anecdotal information. Enough, I’ll finish my tea and sweet little treasures from BIG BOOTY. Can’t you just see the QUEEN when she was alive if she saw items from BIG BOOTY! lol. God bless her and God bless BIG BOOTY.

Once I discovered that there was a bakery within 10 blocks of my job with Booty in the name, I had to investigate. I came by here on Thursday for a light lunch and to pick up some pastries for my co-workers. This involved an eventful walk down 8th Avenue highlighted by an SVU set nearby; I of course paused for a few minutes to try to find Mariska but was unsuccessful. Anyway. Not much of a negative, but I WAS a little surprised that that the back of the space wasn’t as customer friendly – there’s a lot of inventory stacked up, and it’s kind of drab. And maybe that’s partially because by definition, the front and exterior is VERY much not drab at all – as you’d expect, there’s a lot of rainbow colors and cartoon depictions of a guy with his rump sticking out. When you have a theme, you have a theme. But if they have the ability, I’d recommend spiffing up the back area, because if it had been more hospitable I would have taken advantage of it.

Since I was pretty hungry, I decided to get an empanada (initially I went with beef but the guy behind the counter recommended chicken since it was fresher and made that day – points for and against there. Appreciate the honesty and pivot (and it WAS fresh), but not great that there are not-fresh empanadas from the prior day prominently displayed. Random food trucks around the city shouldn’t have a noticeable edge on a bakery. The empanada was tasty and flavorful, but for the price was actually pretty expensive, and I say that as someone who’s grown pretty desensitized to NYC prices. It cost about $5 and I got literally three bites out of it. It should be at least 50% bigger than it is.

I also got a guava turnover, which was decent as well. Guava is one of my faves and to me a very underrated filling/flavor, so I’m always glad to see it getting its due. The top of the turnover had sugar granules on it (also something I tend to like for both texture and taste reasons), but it was a little too much – it made the pastry too sugary which I know is a strange complaint for someone who knowingly walked into a bakery. The cupcakes and cookies I got were warmly received by my colleagues and demolished within an hour or two (I got a variety of each), so that’s also another positive. I had a hunk of the M&M cookie on my way back, which was slightly undercooked, just the way I liked it.

The gentleman who assisted me was perfectly nice (and the chicken empanada recommend is a big selling point) and offered up suggestions on the best options for the variety pack we collated. My only real issue is he didn’t provide disclaimers about the bag fees – he offered to put everything in a bag (because why wouldn’t you?) only for me to find out when I got rung up that I was charged $0.25 per bag. Now, that’s not going to break me but that’s more of a principal thing. Tell people when you’re assessing additional charges for the choices they’re making. Left a bad taste in my mouth that the guava wasn’t able to totally fix.

I’m probably not coming back here for a big order, nor for an actual meal (even a light one, since I ended up having to buy an emergency hot dog on my way back to the office to fill me up a little more). A random pastry on my travels through Chelsea? Sure. But I think there are better price points out there, strange as that is to say in this inflationary environment. Cool name though.

Possibly the best pecan pie I have ever tasted: 7 minutes at 300 degrees, lightly tented aluminum foil… the crust is perfectly light and flaky, the filling ooey gooey, and the pecans sweet and chewy. I will be back!
