The parking is free in their lot and we parked behind the building (enter through the front) and you walk by their smoker and it smelled amazing.
Once inside, there are a few tables and chairs along with a counter style seating along the front window, too. We were warmly greeted by the very kind young lady at the front, and I ordered the smoked wings with mac and cheese, and my husband got the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese. We also shared a side of waffle fries because I will search high and low for the best Mac and cheese while my husband has a love for fries in any size, shape and seasoning.
We sat watching enviously as the table next to us got their food and we vowed next time to try the queso loaded fries because, seriously, wow! their queso was the perfect combination of that melted cheese goodness you strive for at home and never quite get right. The portions are impressive, they do not skimp on any of it! The queso loaded fries looked amazing so now we have our next order already lined up.
Our food arrived, the wait time wasn’t bad at all, and everything was hot, fresh, flavorful, and the portions were perfect.
The best part (besides the food) was the staff, they were all so kind and went above and beyond. They even offered us a banana pudding to try, and I had no idea how much I loved banana pudding until today… and now I can already tell it’s going to be a constant craving for me. You’ll need a couple friends to help you because even with two of us, we barely made a dent in it, the portion is impressive. I won’t do it justice but here’s a description- Creamy banana pudding covers vanilla wafer cookies and is topped with whipped cream and crumbles of Reece’s peanut butter cup.
I have to share the irony of me being someone who doesn’t love BBQ sauce but loves smoked meats, and so many places, this one included, do offer a sauce that isn’t a traditional BBQ sauce, as they have Dill Ranch for the wings and a honey mustard inspired Carolina Gold sauce that was quite good.
If you’re thinking about trying Belly Brothers, don’t think, just GO. The food is amazing, the service is even better, and I already can’t wait to come back.
Tips:
-The seating area is limited so be prepared to maybe need to take your meal to go.
-the banana pudding has peanut butter cups in it. We liked it but know that twist isn’t for everyone!
-try all the sauces on the table to find your perfect fit!
-the burnt ends are absolutely worth the extra cost
We are excited to continue to come and try the rest of their menu. Everything we have had so far has been delightful!
This place does not disappoint!
I’m typically not a fan of pie but we tried their deep fried apple pie and it was insane. Like a gourmet toaster strudel or a glazed Apple empanada.
Charlize was SO kind and helpful. Good people working here. Will definitely be back!!
We ordered a combo plate with pulled pork, brisket and wings. Those all three were delicious and tender. Smoked wings tender as well. The brisket is so tender it just slides apart with a fork.
We got two sides with the combo, fried okra which were also really great not overly battered just perfect. Can’t wait to get these again! We also got waffle fries and perfectly crispy and seasoned. Combo portions were great too as it fed me and my son!
We also ordered the burnt ends, which were also really tasty too.
My 17mo old son age so much of the okra, fries, pulled pork and even a wing.
The habanero sauce was really interesting, not overly hot but super sweet too – it left me confused but was delicious. The regular BBQ sauce also has great flavor.
Can’t wait to go back and hope you give them a try !
1/6 update: food, service and vibe are still incredible ! Today we tried the new items were the beef hot link (soo good!), poblano Mac, grandma’s Mac and we got a side of the HOMEMADE smoked ranch. The owner said we would want to drink It, and he’s not wrong. We dipped every fry in it. Don’t pass up this place!
We got 2 samplers to feed 4ppl, the brisket fries and a lb of brisket.
The pulled pork was juicy, the brisket in the sampler was okay but the pound was delicious and the wings were surprisingly great – quality meat instead of stringy bits.
LOVED the pablano Mac, fried okra was tasty and YES GET THE FRIES . The staff was quite pleasant as they accommodated us during the Saturday 1pm lunch rush AND it was ready for pickup in 15 minutes (I was shook, lol). Sorry no photos of the food, it was demolished the moment it hit the table!
