I think this place was good. I loveddd the cabbage it was so good and flavorful! The sweet potatoes weren’t my favorite but my cousin enjoyed them. The catfish was good and fried hard like I like it. I really wished they had tartar sauce because that’s mandatory for fish lol but the food was good. The music was really good and the vibes were super chill. The only thing that’s weird to me is that they come to your table and take your order, but you pay as soon as you order. Thats a different considering we ate in, but I’d come back when I come to town again

First time trying Big Bacon’s. The food was as good as it looks. The Mac and cheese could be more moist but it was decent. Also first impression is everything so the young ladies that first great you as you come on could have been a tad bit more welcoming. Outside of that, everything was cool. The food was worth the wait.

The food was amazing. My wife got lamb chops, sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese. I got salmon, sweet potatoes and Brussels sprouts. We ended the meal with some banana pudding. The only thing I did not like, was that I didn’t ahead of time that it was BYOB. Every bite of food was delicious. The owners are from Chicago, and you can tell that cooking was bred into them from birth. If you are in the mood for a home cooked, southern meal, this is the place!!

I visited this establishment last week. My first impression upon walking through the door had me leery but what I didn’t know was that my experience would just keep going down from there. When I walked in the floor was extremely sticky (first red flag). I told the young lady behind the counter I wanted to dine in and when I was ready to leave, I would order another plate to go for my friend at home. I ordered my food and sat down. After sitting for a few minutes she approached me with a machine to pay before I even received my food (second red flag) even though at that point I was uncomfortable due to those first two things and also the fact that the young lady didn’t seem friendly, I decided to stay and try anyways. After I ordered and paid it was like her job was done and she just sat behind the counter on her phone. I then was approached by a young man that had a glass of just ice with no water. He placed the glass on the table and the young lady then came back to ask if I wanted something to drink. I ask for just water and was also charged for that. Before the food came out the restaurant began to feel non-inviting to me. I then asked for everything to go. When I opened the food before leaving the jerk chicken was overcooked, the pork chops lacked seasoning and the Mac & cheese tasted like craft. I hate that because I really wanted to like this place. I did mention to her that my jerk chicken looked overcooked and she said “what do you want me to do?” I ended up just saying never mind and walking out the door. I can’t believe they have service that awful and to top it off the food was nothing that I should’ve paid $56 for.
Response to owner: I was actually excited to come and visit your establishment. Instead of being so defensive about your downfalls maybe you should do some reflecting, less attacking and use the reviews as teaching moments to improve for future patrons. Wish you the best.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding Experience at Big Bacon Restaurant – Phoenix, AZ
After landing in Phoenix, our group of four went straight from the airport to Big Bacon Restaurant—and it was the absolute best decision we could have made.
From the moment we walked in, the owner/manager personally took care of us and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Traveling can be exhausting, but the level of hospitality we received immediately put us at ease. They were attentive, kind, and intentional about making sure all four of us were comfortable, satisfied, and well taken care of.
The food was phenomenal—fresh, flavorful, and exactly what we needed after a long flight. Every dish was prepared perfectly, and you could tell care and pride go into everything they serve. Big Bacon lives up to its name and reputation.
What truly set this experience apart, though, was the service. It’s rare to find a place where leadership is so present and committed to guest experience. The owner/manager didn’t just serve us food—they created a memorable moment for our entire group.
If you’re visiting Phoenix or just landed and need an amazing first stop, Big Bacon Restaurant is a must. Exceptional food, outstanding service, and genuine hospitality. We will absolutely be back.
Highly recommend!

As a fellow former Chicagoan, I came in hoping for the flavors I grew up with. Unfortunately, Big Bacons missed the mark for me.
They do get a point for cooking to order, which I appreciate. I ordered the fried chicken wings with double mac and cheese as my sides. But let’s talk about those wings…
Every Chicagoan knows fried chicken wings = whole wings. What I got were party wings, and while I’ll own that I should’ve asked to confirm, I did check Yelp photos beforehand and saw at least one showing whole wings. That wasn’t the worst part, though. The wings looked like they were those pre-breaded and pre-frozen, and the breading was way too heavy. It was also either the heavy breading or they were jumbo-sized. Either way, I didn’t enjoy them, I couldn’t even eat them.
Now for the bright spot: the mac and cheese was creamy, cheesy, and comforting, this side dish actually reminded me of home. That’s where Big Bacons earns its second star.
If I return, it’ll be for the mac and cheese. But if you’re looking for true Chicago-style wings, this might not be the spot.

This place is a hidden gem. Found them ok TikTok and so glad I did. The girl serving us was the sweetest. My boyfriend and I ordered the lamb chops and jerk chicken with our sides being Mac n cheese & garlic mashed potatoes. Let me tell you, the food was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! The Mac n cheese was amazing. Everything was great. We will definitely be going back within the next few weeks!

The restaurant is super cute & very homey. I love the blunt decor in the bathroom. It’s so black & beautiful. The food was very good but they were out a lot of sides. I can understand why though it was 6:30 on Father’s Day they close at 8. I’m looking forward to going again but much earlier. I immediately called my friend in Texas & told her I will be taking her the next time she comes out. I will be bringing my mama & aunties too ooh some cousins too. The food was bomb! The waiter was bomb! He sat at the table to take my order & discuss the menu with me
