Howzit, We are both from O’ahu, Hawaii. My wife Mel was raised in Kalihi, myself, Waipahu. we moved away from Hawai’i in 2007 because of the cost of living. @ that time there was only 1 Hawaiian place to eat in or around San Antonio, so because of the lack of local kine grinez to eat @, we decided to open our own local kine grinez business. 1st we sold plate lunch from home to make ends meet, next came the food truck, and finally, a brick & mortar location. this yr (2025) will make 7 yrs @ this location 10 yrs totel in the food business. We are not close to being perfect and we make lots of mistakes, but we will always try our best to serve you the best tasting local food that we possibly can. A hui Hou, Aloha.

From the moment I walked in, I felt like I had been transported straight to Hawaii. The atmosphere alone is worth five stars — the soft island music playing in the background, the tropical decor, and even the subtle ocean-themed touches all come together to create a warm, relaxing vibe that feels incredibly authentic.
I ordered the H-2 with Teri Chicken and Teri Beef, and it completely exceeded my expectations. The chicken was tender, perfectly grilled, and had that slightly sweet, smoky flavor that only great teriyaki can deliver. The beef was just as amazing — juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. You can tell everything is made with care and attention to detail.
The staff were super friendly and even looked like they were from Hawaii. They check up on me to make sure the food tasted good even after passing it off, showing their care. If I lived closer I’d be here all the time, highly recommend!
If you’re looking for authentic Hawaiian food with a family-friendly atmosphere, this is the place to go. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — you can really taste the island-inspired flavors in every bite.
We tried the Hawaiian BBQ plate, the poke bowl, and their signature tropical cocktails — all incredible! The staff greeted us with true Aloha hospitality, making us feel like family from the moment we walked in.
The restaurant has a warm, inviting vibe that’s perfect for lunch or group gatherings. It’s also super clean and conveniently located right in the heart of Universal City, making it easy to stop by before or after exploring local attractions.
Highly recommend Aloha’s Ali’i Cove to anyone craving authentic island cuisine, great service, and a fun, relaxing dining experience.

Local kine grinds!
Makes me MISS Hawaii more and more
But eating here is one of the things that let’s me feel like I’m at home again but I’m in San Antonio.
The Kahlua pig and cabbage was awesome!
But my favorite was the spicy pork sooo ONO { which means super tasty }!
Spicy ahi poke bowl –> NEXT LEVEL!!
Kalua w & w/o cabbage, very delicious, Teri beef, so tender & flavorful
Kalani was soooo nice!!
I got the 3 meat combo with Teri Chic, Teri Beef, and Chicken Katsu, and the standard sides of rice and Mac Salad. Absolutely delicious. The two chicken dishes were the best, but the beef was great as well.
This is one of the best places in San Antonio, and I can’t recommend it enough 🙂
And the food, oh man, where do I even begin? While I do like their classic Kalua Pig and Teri Beef, they just added something new to the menu that’s blown my mind: the Spicy Chicken Katsu. No joke, it’s the best thing on the menu, hands down. It’s got that perfect crispy crunch on the outside, but it’s still so tender and juicy on the inside, and the spice level is… well, Chef’s kiss! It just takes regular katsu to a whole new level. If you go, you absolutely have to try it.
We had the daily special (looked too good to pass up).
P3 with Teri Beef, Katsu Chicken and Kalua pig
Kalbi Short Ribs
Spam Masubi.
