Went in on a Friday afternoon.There was nobody there. The bartender acted aggravated by my presence. She brought my bill with my first drink. BEFORE I even got my food. Very inattentive. Had to waive her down for drinks. Then, thirty minutes later, I get my food. The $15 pork chop tasted like it was boiled in liquid smoke. The chicken looked perfect! But as soon as I tried eating it the skin fell off. Revealing a weird film and extremely over cooked tough inedible meat. It was a huge expensive regret.

Their food truck is right next to work and upon finding out they have a brick n mortar so close by I had to come down. Mondays they have .75 cent wings! Ray the bartender was very attentive and helped me choose a couple of flavors. Went with jerk and spicy bbq! The wings were INCREDIBLE! Flavorful, moist and HUGE! The Mac n cheese was so good I ordered a 2nd helping! Big Al was in and greeted and chatted with the entire bar! Great customer service. Will definitely be back!!

A great bbq and southern comfort food place that you should definitely try! We were looking for a southern style place to eat after a small toad trip and AI recommended this to us. So glad it did!
The menu is excellent with plenty of options and very affordable. The pork chop is HUGE (2-3″ thick) and cooked to tender perfection. The owner told us that he won a few cook-off awards with it and I totally believe it after trying it.
The potato wedges are delicious and hardy, the homemade mac & cheese is soooo cheesy (in a great way), the collard greens were so good that even our 11 month old baby was chowing down on them, and they might have my new favorite bbq baked beans.
All of the employees were extremely friendly and all of our food came out hot and tasty. They also have live music (not sure what days in general, but they were setting it up while we were there on a Saturday) and a nice bar area.
We’re definitely going back. We need to try the broasted chicken and the wings next! Can’t wait.

First visit here. Service was great, maybe a little slow but food was hot and perfect. Ordered 1/2 rack of ribs, order of whole wings, spicy garlic sauce and a basket of excellent onion rings. I am very particular about my onion rings and the exceeded the bar!!! Also a couple of beers for me and my wife and out for under $50.
The ribs were great, tender, great smoke and sauce. The spicy garlic whole wings were very flavorful and satisfying.
The owner Al came to the table to greet us and see how everything was. Very friendly and personable.
This place is also very family friendly as well as biker friendly.
Looking forward to returning here again SOON! Especially since it’s only a few miles from my house!

I am not sure if anyone knows about this place but the food is fricken amazing. Their Alligator bites , frogleg, homemade mac ncheese, even my kid gave it 10 stars and she won’t eat nothing. It was dark Horse tavern last I knew but not anymore. Their food is the shit! Check it out and yes they have a kids menu too! Its Big A’s I think. Its across from BoB Evans on byers. Their smoked chicken wings , pulled pork are also awesome, haven’t tried it all yet but Friday is all u can eat Catfish so plan to try that next!

Went in today and spoke with the barback (STAR) who when asked what i should get told me the bourbon chicken and sides.
I did as instructed and WOWWW 5*s this stuff is great. Sweet, smokey, chicken peices with perfectly cooked NOT MUSHY rice. Along with that I got 2 side.
Pinto beans with turkey in them… (great flavor with very minor notes of hotsauce that gives the flavor but not the heat)
And the yams (PERFECTLY sweet, like grandmother made for thanksgiving)
Great food, cool environment, and star IS a Rockstar. Bravo

Ate at Big A yesterday and ordered their meat combo $23 to select 3 kinds of meat. Wings, ribs, brisket, fish and another choice I cant remember. Was told the combo came with 2 side items. So my dad and I ordered 2 sides with each of our combos, the serving sizes were pretty small for the cost and when the bill came I saw we were charged for all the additional sides which added $12.50 to our total when I asked about it I was told they had to ring up each item separately even though the waitress said it came with the combo. The side dishes were the best part of the meal, the brisket was tasty but very tough and almost pulled out my dads dentures, and the ribs were very chewy and kind of stringy. The total bill was almost $70 with 2 combos with 4 sides all supposedly included with the combo and 2 soft drinks. The waitress was kind and offered refills and checked on us fairly often but telling me the sides were included then charging $12.50 for them left a bad taste in my mouth.

This was absolutely the worst barbecue soul food place I have ever been to in my entire life in any state anywhere. The brisket was as thin as bacon and as dry as a piece of old shoe leather with no seasoning. The smoked turkey wings were smoked to a point of dryness, and there was no turkey flavor. I’m not sure what bird it really was. The greens had no flavor whatsoever and had the texture of leaf clippings from spring cleaning a tree, my husband and I both threw the greens in the trashcan after just one bite, It was really that bad obviously we will not be returning to give them a second chance. The ribs were OK and the sauce on the ribs was OK. The catfish was not too bad, but the portion size wasn’t even enough to fill my cats belly. I am so sorry for the bad review, but I am just being honest.
