First let me explain, I eat Korean food all the time. I even prepare Korean food at home. I’ve been to dozens and dozens of Korean Resturant’s over many years. Even though I am not Korean, I love the healthy wholesome food.
Now to Bibibop Asian Grill. This was my first time and most likely will be my very last time. This was so far from real Korean foods, I couldn’t believe it. The tables and chairs are definitely indicative of fast food Resturant’s. The seats are a hard uncomfortable thing on purpose; to get you out sooner than later.
The food is all precooked sitting under a plastic shield. Many of the items to choose from are not Korean choices or cooked Korean. Their kimchee is far from real kimchee. All the meats are sitting drying out waiting for its next victim. Hey folks, there are two good Korean Resturant’s a little further down the street on Route 60. Google Korean and they will pop up and you’ll really enjoy true Korean foods. Those places actually are visited by Korean customers. Bibibop Asian had no Koreans there. You eat on styrofoam plates and use plastic forks. It is self serve yourself to drinks, napkins etc. You are also expected to clear your own table
Don’t waste your time, especially if you enjoy good Korean food.
Before you go, tap the thumbs up.

No wait in line at around 4:30 pm on a Sunday. Food was excellent and staff was nice.

Food was great, especially for the price. My husband and I did build-your-own bowls, he got steak and I got salmon. We each got a fountain drink as well. Out total was around $36 with tax. The steak was juicy, flavorful, and the texture was good, not stringy or gristly at all. The salmon was perfectly cooked, not dried or rubbery. I was very impressed with the quality for the price.

Highly recommend the curry chickpeas and the sweet potato glass noodles. The raw lemon kale was not my favorite, I wouldn’t get that again.

There was free miso soup available next to the fountain drinks, though we didn’t have any. It would have been great on a cold winter day to get some though!

Would give zero stars if possible. Online order was not even started 20 min after it was supposed to be ready. Manager and staff ignored me, made excuses, and provided no assistance resolving the issue. They marked my order complete in the system before starting the order, so I could not go and cancel. Yesi, the manager on duty had a terrible attitude and was extremely rude. I would be appalled if she was the face of my business. Ownership needs to address the situation.

I really wanted to like this resturant but after going in last night, it’ll be the last. I was making my own bowl and asked for the Korean crispy chicken. She put 4 small pieces. I kindly asked if she could put just a few more pieces because for the price, I was appalled. Especially because all of the sides and toppings were SLIM! She tells me she “can’t” unless I “pay extra” I said ok fine. She put like a few
more pieces and it was a $7 extra charge. Are you kidding me? At least make up for it by adding enough sides and toppings or something. This place is a rip off.

Great Food, but customer service totally stinks.
I’m a repeat customer, and the only reason for that is because the food is honestly really good.
My issue is primarily with the consistently bad service.
I promise you, most of the 5-star reviews gushing about how “nice” the staff are, were definitely paid for. I’ve never experienced it. I want to… can’t say that I have.
My last visit was a day ago, slightly after lunch. My family and I walk in and zero greeting. The store was full, but there was no one in the line. We walked to the counter and, still nothing. They treated us like we were completely invisible. Still no smiles or acknowledgment.
It looked like they were working on an online order, so 2-3 minutes goes by with me and my family standing there and no one saying anything…. Like literally…. crickets. Then out of nowhere the associate turns to us, picks up a bowl and makes a “what do you want motion” … mind you still saying NOTHING. Really, why did I even come here”?!!

Once we started ordering, we were rushed through the line. The person helping me today actually threw my food into the bowl.

I enjoy the concept and the food, but again the downright mean and rude service makes me think twice about coming here. It’s frustrating to spend money somewhere that clearly doesn’t value your business. And it’s crazy for me to keep coming back, knowing it’s probably not going to change.

Management, please do some training on basic human interaction. Your food is carrying this business, but seriously, your staff’s attitude is bringing you down.

Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was very clean. Got a purple rice steak bowl at 7:30pm on a Wednesday. The portion sizes were incredibly small and food tasted not fresh. The sauces were not very good either and tasted to similar to cheap salad dressing.

We placed an online order for pickup at the Vernon Hills store on November 8, 2025. Upon arrival, we retrieved a bag labeled with our name and order number. Unfortunately, upon returning home and opening the containers, we discovered that the order was entirely incorrect and contained someone else’s food. Despite the bag and tag bearing our receipt, the contents were clearly not ours.

We promptly returned the food to the Vernon Hills location, where the manager, Edgal, displayed a shocking lack of concern. He made no effort to correct the order and merely offered a refund with in 48 hours, stating that he needed to consult with his manager first.

I insisted on receiving something in writing confirming the refund. He took the food back and provided me with his name and the store number, promising to issue a refund after discussing it with his manager. However, it has now been five days, and we have yet to receive any refund. As a result, we are now forced to contest the charge with our credit card company.

This experience has been extremely frustrating and reflects poorly on the store’s service and management. We will not be returning.

First time here. Basically an Asian version of Chipotle. You choose your base (rice, noodles or greens) and then protein, veggies and sauce. I had the sweet potato noodles with organic tofu, veggies and a sesame sauce and my husband had the purple rice with steak with gochuang sauce. Both were good for fast food, but my husband’s steak was chewy instead of tender and was a cheap tasting cut. Service was very good at this location with both people behind the counter pleasant, and the dining area clean (though not too comfortable due to hard chairs). Unsweetened black iced tea with currant was delicious. Steak bowl was $13 and tofu bowl $11.
