Reviews
Biaggi’s Ristorante Italiano has one of the best gluten-free menus I’ve found anywhere, and their staff is exceptionally well-trained when it comes to navigating dairy-free needs as well.
I’ve been able to observe their bar team both during the day and at night on a Saturday between Christmas and New Year’s, and wow — they have an absolute dream team running that bar. It genuinely reminded me of the incredible team that used to run the bar at the Chophouse inside Monarch Casino Resort Spa (sadly no longer there), a level of excellence I never thought I’d find again without tracking those people down in a luxury airport lounge at Denver International Airport.
Their efficiency, accuracy, teamwork, and attention to maintaining the bar while staying fast and friendly is truly impressive.
The basil lemon drop? Officially tied for my favorite anywhere. Those who follow me know my long-standing loyalty to the one at Sonny Lubick Steakhouse — there are now only two places in the country I trust to order this cocktail.
They are also fully handicap accessible for wheelchairs and walkers, and the restrooms include a thoughtfully designed stall that works beautifully for accessibility and for parents with babies. At lunch, the team was wonderful with my 13-month-old and even accommodated a table move when the first setup wasn’t working for him.
Their to-go team member Amanda (pictured with the mohawk) was fantastic — helping wherever she could and adding incredible value to the entire operation, not just her role. I truly hope management recognizes how much she elevates the experience. Hailey and Tyler were our primary bar servers and were absolutely crushing it.
The food is outstanding, prices are reasonable, portions are generous, drinks are fantastic, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff is top-tier.
My favorite dish so far: Chicken Marsala with gluten-free penne (subbed for mashed potatoes due to dairy) — absolutely excellent.
For dessert, there’s currently one gluten-free and dairy-free option, and it’s perfect: a blood orange sorbet. Light, refreshing, not overly sweet, and available in one or three scoops — ideal even when you’re already full but still want a treat.
I’ve dined in the dining room multiple times and now at the bar, and both experiences have been consistently impressive.
And as someone with a long restaurant background — watching them individually aerate certain red wines as they pour using personal air aerators was next-level. Their wine service efficiency and technique is unlike anything I’ve seen in my restaurant journey, locally or across the country.
First, while not a major issue, there was a small service hiccup. I specifically asked for a booth and was told we would need to wait, which we did. When we were called, however, we were not seated at a booth. To make matters more frustrating, the next couple after us was seated at a booth. It’s a preference of mine, but it was still a definite “come on” moment.
The bigger issue was the food. On our first visit, the portions were generous, which felt appropriate given the price point. This time, the portion size was noticeably smaller, and when you’re paying premium prices, consistency really matters.
I ordered the chicken parmesan, which should be a Parmesan-crusted chicken cutlet. What I received instead was a tough, chewy, pan-seared piece of chicken with absolutely zero crust, and I’m not exaggerating when I say zero. It was also substantially smaller than what I received on my first visit to this location. That was extremely disappointing.
The most alarming issue, however, was the cleanliness of the kitchen area, which can be seen in the photos attached to this review. These photos were taken directly above where food is being plated. While the dusty flowers are not directly over the kitchen, they still contribute to an overall impression of poor cleanliness.
The customer-facing areas of the restaurant appear clean, but the kitchen, arguably the area that should be held to the highest standard, looked concerning. It genuinely made me wonder what other aspects of the kitchen might not be as clean as they should be.
Overall, my first experience set high expectations, and unfortunately this visit did not meet them. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, because I know this restaurant is capable of doing much better.
But then our food took 45 minutes to come out just to be lukewarm and under seasoned. The staff are likely overworked so it was difficult to get service. The food was fine but not like it used to be and not worth how expensive it is. The lobster in the lobster fettuccine was mushy, the potatoes in the chilean sea bass were very plain, and the sea bass itself didn’t look anything like any chilean sea bass I’ve ever had before.
We are disappointed that we can no longer love Biaggis
04/21/2025 Return visit.
French Onion Soup, braised short rib cannelloni, cajun rigatoni. Food was good again. Still need to do pizza! Service was much better this visit.
They had a table ready. While we were at the entrance more family called and decided to join us. We asked if another table of 5 could be sat next to us when they arrived. Except when the hostess asked, the manager said no, (via the hostess). Now we need to wait 30 minutes and cannot be seated at all. Plenty of tables at the time, and tables turning over.
Went next door to PF Changs and were immediately greeted by friendly staff with no issues. Sat immediately and extra family joined later. Managers at the entrance were friendly and actually interacted with their restaurant guests.
Biaggi’s can definitely do better. Could’ve told us service would be a little slower than usual, due to the lateness, or we could have been seated and the other party would be a little delayed (as they weren’t at the restaurant yet anyway.) Biaggi’s needs major managerial improvement based on our experience tonight.
