Bewon is a small “mom and pop” place with a variety of authentic Korean dishes. Prices are reasonable and the food and sides are delicious and filling. A friend and I picked up lunch here on a weekday and the food was ready within 15 minutes. The next time we’ll have to eat at Bewon when we have more time to get dishes that are not easy for takeout. I had the bibimbap and was pleasantly surprised by the purple rice rather than the usual white rice. If you’re not a fan of very spicy dishes, you can still find something here. If you like more heat/spice in your food, you may want to add some gochujang that the restaurant has.

Bewon is a small mom & pop restaurant in Ann Arbor serving authentic Korean dishes. They offer both dine in or take out. I had wanted to dine in for lunch, but did not have time in between work meetings so ordered take out. I placed my order in advance over phone as there is currently no online ordering options. I ordered the soon tofu (spicty tofu soup with an egg, clams, shrimp, and veggies) which was about $15, and the portion was generous. The tofu was silky soft and basically melted in your mouth as you ate it. The soon tofu was milder in spice than what I am used to for soondubu so for those who like Korean tofu soup but can’t really eat spicy food, Bewon’s soon tofu may be perfect for them. The meal also came with purple rice as well as five different banchans (sides).

More like a 3.5. Calamari (2/5) tastes like being from supermarket. Charbroiled mackerel (4/5) was great but the portion size was tiny. Side dishes (3.5/5) were average. Owners were friendly and the environment was nice.

My daughter and I were visiting Ann Arbor from out of town and were just looking for a place to get dinner near our hotel. Bewon turned out to be an excellent choice. After we arrived, it took only a few minutes to be seated. Service was fast and efficient. While waiting for our food, they served complimentary tea and appetizers which were delicious.
