What a quaint little place!! The food is really good; the atmosphere is awesome. The service is great. The people are friendly. It’s a delicious little diner right in the heart of Jackson. So, if you’re hungry and if you’re in downtown Jackson, do yourself a favor and go check it out!
The yams are by far the best thing they serve here! You have to try them!!

**watch, this merchants also charge a fee to use your card””. It is not posted anywhere in the restaurant. Food was not to my liking, chicken didn’t have no seasoning, yams was big blocks and greens were bland. The dressing wasn’t bad at all. I plan to give it another try I hear I should have gotten fried chicken.

I finally got to Bettinas and what a treat it was! I got neckbones, lima beans, macNcheese, and cornbread. I am very impressed with the portion and seasoned like momma did it.

“Though she may be small, she is mighty.”

Bettina’s is a small in size, but big in soul-food lunch spot.

The veritable meat and 2-sides. Cooked fresh, seasoned well and made with love.

Excellent fried chicken, baked chicken, red beans & rice or meatloaf as your primary fuel. Add Mac n cheese, greens, black eyes, rice or mashed potatoes as the support. Cornbread or roll and the option of a dessert.

A neat, clean restaurant with friendly service. The dining room only has 6-8 tables, but the flavors are large.

Highly recommend and will return!

Tried this place for the first time. Nice atmosphere and customer service. The to go order wait wasn’t long. However the food was disappointing. The dressing and yams were mediocre. The fried chicken was the biggest fail, it wasn’t fresh at all. It was dry and tasted like it may have been fried a day or two ago. Surprisingly dissatisfying.

Food for the soul, hospitality for a lifetime. Best fried catfish I’ve had. Soft as a pillow and full of flavor. So good, I didn’t even want sauce.

The ribs were impressive. They are not your typical smoked BBQ style ribs but rather, charcoal grilled with that from the grill flavor. Impressively tender. Again, no sauce needed. Beautifully grilled.

We were passing through the state and wanted a taste of what Mississippi has offer. Was not disappointed.

For other first timers, this was not a typical buffet but rather a by the plate. Pick your main entree, pick your sides, pay and eat up.

Quaint place. Simply and tastefully done. Like walking into Grandma’s house. They’ll feed you like their own.

Do not forget the point cake. About asked if I could by the whole cake.

The greens are sweet. Which was a first for me. Different but, good. Added a little hot sauce to let the vinegar and heat cut the sweetness down. It created a very nice duet.

From the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with warm hospitality and the comforting aroma of home-cooked goodness. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned and crispy, the mac and cheese creamy and rich, and the collard greens had just the right kick. Every bite tasted like it was made with love.

The portions were generous, prices reasonable, and the service was top-notch. Whether you’re craving cornbread, yams, or a hearty plate of ribs, Soul Food Kitchen delivers soul-satisfying meals that hit the spot every time.

Highly recommend for anyone who loves authentic Southern cooking. I’ll definitely be back!

The food was soulful and seasoned to perfection, the folks were extremely nice and family like… Yams 10, deeply candied. the ox tails 10, large and forks off the bone. Cornbread dressing flavorful and moist. Mac and cheese, cheesy and good. Collard greens were on point and tender. I’m coming back… hidden gem has been found.
