Definitely the creamiest tonkotsu Ive ever tried. Also, the shop has the coolest ambience of any ramen place Ive been too in the states.

Look, this is a small operation with gigantic flavor. They specialize in authentic Hakata style tonkotsu ramen. It’s pork based broth with traditional seasonings available to add. It’s not extremely salty which I enjoy! Broth is creamy and the meat used absolutely cooked to perfection. Also, you must add a soft boiled egg. The atmosphere is definitely casual and the lighting is dim and cozy. Everything on the walls are types of authentic Japanese drinks you can get. The hot saki really was delightful and easy to ask for. The people who work there are kind and direct, and have good knowledge to what each type of saki/ beverage is like. The menu is small but everything I’ve tried on it in previous visits is in fewer terms, perfect.

Betsutenjin Ramen – Soup for the Soul

The vibe can described as 1980s Mom & Pop Ramen in some alleyway that the locals absolutely cherish. And for me, well the food was great. The Gyoza juicy and the Hakata ramen was smooth with this gentle sweetness to it. Betsutenjin is always a great spot to sit down of a bowl of ramen when out on those late nights on the hill. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Hakata Ramen has incredible broth! It has light natural sweetness and goes very well with other ingredients. Lobster salad was so good and savory

This is authentic Japanese food in Seattle, and they’re open until 2 a.m., which makes it even better. I felt like I was eating in Japan. The atmosphere is great, the noodles are perfectly firm, and the soup is delicious. A must-try!

the ramen was pretty decent, the only issue is that they were SUPER understaffed. we waited for maybe an hour ~ hour and a half when we were tild it would be a 30 minute wait. so like maybe we should have just left, but we felt like we needed to stick it out, we just really wanted ramen ig. then it also took a really long time to order and get the food becuase there were like 2 people working (so hey general manager you should probably staff a restaurant better to prepare for a busy friday night). they also fogot some of the food we ordered (ehich they did take off of the bill afyer we pointed that out). anyways, the food was fine and the decor was really cool, but i would just say it is NOT worth the wait.

We love this place. Been here half a dozen times & NEVER disappointed. Savory ramen. Succulent pork. Mouthwatering broth… …Oh, Man—where was I?

Oh, that’s right—in RAMEN HEAVEN.

We love that they have Japanese TV playing on the wall. Adds to the authenticity of the down-to-earth decor; straight forward, comfortably worn—like visiting some cozy family spot in a small corner of Fukuoka or something

Relax and enjoy an excellent sake pairing with your meal

Our group had a really negative experience here. The flavor was extremely sweet. The bowl was about half full of broth and everyone in our group thought the flavor was very off.

To top it off we were also overcharged by misleading tactics where they charge a service charge for our group of 5 without notifying us and we unknowingly paid an extra tip.

To be clear to the restaurant staff: most places that have this type of service charge have the server disclose it as well as having it on the payment receipt prior to processing payment. Since you use a digital card reader it’s especially important to mention it so the customer doesn’t feel taken advantage of.

Really cool atmosphere and service was great. The ramen wasn’t my favorite style as it was a little on the sweeter side but I still enjoyed my meal. Would recommend trying it out, probably much more vibey later in the night if you’re looking for a drink.

This place offers a solid ramen experience. We tried the Tonkotsu and seafood ramen, and both were delicious. The broths were well-balanced, not too overpowering, and the noodles were cooked to perfection. The side dishes also impressed—both the lobster salad and gyoza were flavorful.

The service was friendly and excellent, making the experience even better. Overall, a great spot for a satisfying bowl of ramen!

Betsutenjin was my favorite Ramen spot in Seattle, however, their quality has gone down significantly while the price has increased. The broth has been watered down significantly and the prawn miso Ramen does not have much flavor anymore. Would not recommend.
