Hidden gem of Nelson and the immediate area! Quaint little cafe with fabulous home cooked meals and fresh homemade pies.
Got seated right away for lunch. Service was outstanding. Food was delicious.
Wife had the BBQ chicken sandwich, daughter had the kids grilled cheese and french fries, and I had the fried chicken.
Chicken was battered with a light batter (homemade I believe) and the fries were also coated with something.
Everything was great and we will definitely be back on future drives.

The food here is homemade and was very good. I had the hot beef sandwich special for lunch. It was delicious. The staff was very friendly and we spent some time in the gift shop next to the restaurant. Will definitely stop by next time we’re in the area

You know it’s a yummy place when the locals are here. When they say plate size pancakes, they mean it. (See photo) Sorry I forgot to take a pic of my plate before I ate. Biscuits were yummy! No charge for coffee (as it should be!) great hot chocolate per my hubby. (Not powdered). It could use a bit of decor update but that’s not why you go out to eat is it?

Wheelchair accessible entrance and the bathroom. Very neat family restaurant. Bathroom is clean. Waitresses are extremely friendly and helpful with making a choice. Food was delicious! We ordered Atlantic cod, Western burger, onion rings, strawberry rhubarb pie and dutch apple. Soup of the day was – chicken noodle.

Wonderful little restaurant with home made cooling. The pies are to die for!! Everything we ordered was spot on. The mashed potatoes were home made, the seasoned fries crispy on the outside and soft on inside with the perfect amount of seasoning. The roast beef was just like the home made beef you would get a Sunday dinner.

Had lunch there on August 23, 2025. Ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and onion rings.
The Burger was very good and cooked to perfection.
The Onion Rings were a different story.
They were OUTSTANDING. Perfectly cooked and crunchy.
They were the best Onion Rings I’ve ever had.
The Service was great!
