All the staff I had contact with were professional and very nice. The food is typical country fare. So hearty, comfort food. My tea stayed full which is always a bonus!

Beth’s Country Kitchen — Pageland, South Carolina
If you’re driving **Charlotte ⇄ Myrtle Beach**, this spot is a **straight-shot, easy 3-mile detour** that’s absolutely worth it.
Beth’s Country Kitchen sits on its **own lot with plenty of parking out front**, housed in a **quaint, no-nonsense metal building** that instantly tells you this place is about the food, not the frills. And that’s exactly how a proper country kitchen should be.
I stopped in on a **Tuesday in January**, and the **lunch buffet was straight-up banging**.
### Buffet highlights:
* Crispy, well-seasoned **fried chicken**
* **Beef and gravy**
* **Mashed potatoes** and **rice**
* **Mac and cheese**
* **Field peas and snaps** (a personal favorite and not something you see everywhere)
* Additional vegetables and sides
* A **full salad bar**
* **House-made desserts**
Everything on the line looked — and tasted — **homemade**. Nothing felt mass-produced or rushed. This is the kind of food that reminds you of church dinners, family reunions, and Sunday tables.
The atmosphere matches the food: **simple, country, welcoming**, and comfortable. Locals clearly know this place, and travelers are lucky when they stumble onto it.
**Bottom line:**
If you want real Southern country cooking, generous portions, easy parking, and a buffet that actually delivers — **Beth’s Country Kitchen is well worth the detour**. Highly recommended.

My wife has an emotional support animal. They told her after we paid. Because you have to pay before you sit and eat that. The dog wasn’t allowed in in there. The food was Blan. Very limited selection. Then, we went to our table in the waitress informed us. We had to pay before we could eat. And I’ve politely told her, we paid already. I felt like I was being traded different, because we just moved to this Pageland area felt like she was profiling. It felt uncomfortable after that I do not recommend this place at all. Especially if you have a handicap or emotional support dog

The food was really bland for paying $33 for it. It was not worth it and was a disappointment. I was looking forward to a good traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Down home country atmosphere, we were greeted with a smile at the door and by our waitress. Food was hot and service was quick. I will definitely eat there again when I’m in that area.

Order grits with cheese, eggs scrambled with cheese, and liver mush. Thank me later. Give these people your money. Wanda at the register is the best

We had lunch here today and it was delicious. It is buffet style. You pay when you come in and you can go right to the buffet. We had fried shrimp, fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, cornbread, candied yams, green beans, cabbage, and a few other vegetables. They had chocolate cake and apple cobbler for dessert. The chicken and dumplings tasted just like my mom’s!

Closest chicken and mac and cheese to my moms and the staff is incredible. Please over tip them!

Good ole country cooking served buffet style. It’s not an out of the can joint. They actually put a little love on the plate.
