The beer selection is STELLAR! I have noticed dust collected on some of the stock and makes me wonder about freshness. I dinged atmosphere because of the incense they were burning in the small small store that caused me to have an asthma attack – there was no escaping the smoke/smell of it and was just horrible. The place has table chairs both inside and outside. They are not open for breakfast; at least they weren’t at 9am.
I also noticed significant price differences compared to other local retailers—some items were nearly 40% more expensive. I strongly recommend double-checking prices before making a purchase. It seems many people shop here because it’s convenient, but in my experience, that convenience came at a steep cost. Personally, I wouldn’t return.
This review is regarding the front desk and the personability, hospitality, and service. I have visited this place a few times to buy beer and wine. Great selection of local beers–some are harder to find, which is like a little gold mine when compared to other beer stores. However, when I go to check out, the front clerk asks for my I.D. (totally fine), but disputes that I am who I am in the picture. I used to have really long hair, but my I.D. has it pulled back. The cashier has even argued with me that I am not the person in my I.D., to which I threatened I would just leave their establishment, to which they relented and allowed me to buy the beer anyways. What TERRIBLE service and the AUDACITY to DISPUTE someone’s I.D. based on their appearance is not only insulting, but absolutely rude.
I have not been back and I won’t be back.
I ordered a sausage and peppers sandwich. For some reason, it came drenched in tomato sauce. The sauce was either old or canned. It tasted like citric acid and preservatives. The sandwich had 4 or 5 little sausages that was probably sitting under a heat lamp for the whole day. They were bland and dry. The cashier definitely did not want to be there. A sandwich and small fries were $16.
Food-wise we had the worst soup we’ve ever experienced – a sour tasting clam chowder that was inedible.
Overall lots of potential here, but mostly missed opportunity.
