The good: Best bang for your buck bagel sandwiches around – it’s nice to be able to add toppings without an up-charge. Good value, lots of options. Don’t feel like you are getting ripped off.

The bad: pickup. Even if you go and stand in the pickup area, you have to jockey for attention in between orders at the regular register. Not a great system. Have someone dedicated to online order pickups, since you have so many. Otherwise ppl get ignored and feel ignored. Also, staff will get agro if you give your name instead of order number. Come on, come up with a system that works for everyone. Do better.

Review would be 3 star or higher but not with the pickup issues.

Food was good and the price was okay, but be sure to check your order before you leave! My bagel was supposed to be asiago but it looked and tasted like a plain bagel.

First time here wasn’t my favorite. I ordered a garlic bagel toasted with plain cream cheese on a Friday morning around 10. It wasn’t super busy, there were maybe 4 people in the shop, 2 already ordered. It took around 10 minutes to complete my order and the bagel wasn’t toasted. I discovered this after I’d take away from the shop.

The bagel was fine, tasted good enough but was somewhat oversized and lacked much character (bagels should have some character).

Another funny thing, and this isn’t negative, just tells you what the market is: my receipt indicated that my bagel should be ‘Normal (NOT SCOOPED)’. As a former New Yorker I find this quaint.

As far as atmosphere, the shop is a shop. A counter and drink coolers and that’s about it. Nowhere to sit out even stand really. Get your bagel and go. A little inhospitable especially if the weather outside is frightful.

Love the bagels. They do a great job at getting you in and out with everything you need. It’s also a madhouse! If you’re coming during the busy hours I would recommend ordering ahead. Even then it took a fairly long time to get my order but I understood why. All of Bethesda is eating there and for good reason. Parking is also tough so, this is a complicated side quest but worth it.

As someone from Long Island, I couldn’t wait to try these NY handmade bagels—and they did not disappoint! I ordered a sun-dried tomato bagel with cracked pepper & caramelized onion cream cheese, topped with fresh tomatoes and onions. Everything was super fresh, and there are tons of options. The place was busy (for good reason!), but service was still quick. I’ll definitely be back again to visit Bethesda Bagels.

The process from start to pick up was smooth and without issue. The food was beautifully prepared and presented, all items were fresh and delicious, especially the hot foods which I was concerned about given the freezing temperatures of late. The accommodated an early morning pickup prior to their starting hours which was another AMAZING surprise.

Should you need catering, I would highly recommend them.

This is the kind of bagel place that makes you a bagel the way you really want it, with an unhealthy amount of cream cheese that we all want to indulge in from time to time.

After seeing this place for years and always curious to try it out, I finally had my first Bethesda Bagels experience.

I’m a sucker for a good everything bagel, covered with plain cream cheese of course, and I can’t think of a better way to top it off without smoked salmon, red onions and capers. And that’s exactly what I ordered at this place.

I came through on a Wednesday morning, there were only a handful of people ahead of me. I hear the lines can be really long on the weekends, and after having one of their bagels, I can see why.

When I got my bagel, I first noticed how heavy my bagel was. Literally, my bagel was heavy, which I knew meant they really packed my bagel – instant brownie points and it only got better. As I was unwrapping my bagel, it looked like it was on steroids. This place may be a bit pricey, but for good reasons. They put a very generous portion of cream cheese on the bagel and are equally as generous with the toppings you ask for.

The verdict? Delicious. I’ll be coming back and bringing people with me. The only downside is that it’s difficult and messy to eat because of the sheer amount of cream cheese they put on the bagel. Even though I am obsessed with cream cheese, I actually thought there was a little too much for my liking. I am shocked that I am saying this, but it’s true. At times, I realized I was biting through an inch of cream cheese! Nonetheless, I will be back!

Bethesda Bagels has been my favorite bagel place for a long time but my most recent order was very disappointing and out of character for them. My bagel this time wasn’t toasted (as ordered), slightly stale, and thrown in the bag without being wrapped first. The store wasn’t super busy for 11am on a Sunday and still it took about 20 mins longer than usual for only one bagel with cream cheese to be ready. I really hope this is a one-off and BB isn’t going downhill.

The bagel was very good. The salmon was fresh and tasty and very NYC. I wish I had more salmon than tomatoes lol. I tried whitefish too and it’s an interesting taste lol. Saturday it gets busy but it’s a nice stop to make if you’re in the area. I think I it’s the best nyc bagel in the DMV.
