I historically really liked this restaurant but I will not be back. I just came here at (non-peak times after 2pm and well before dinner time with a less than half full restaurant) and had such a bad experience. We only ordered two dishes (one coconut snail dish and one fried rice) and it took well over 30 min to bring out. I’m usually ok with a long wait which isn’t fun but I can expect that with fresh made to order food.

However, I FULLY recommend you get an itemized receipt before you pay for the meal. We went up to the counter to pay and they immediately told us the meal was $44 without giving us the bill. We knew it wasn’t right since we ordered cheaper dishes and asked for the bill. Once printed the worker said “oh I meant $25 sorry.” It was an incredibly sketchy thing to do. I know a lot of people just throw down a debit/credit card to pay without even looking but this really took the cake to try to tell us the bill was almost double what we ordered. I will not be back and will always scrutinize the bill after this.

Overall: 3.1 (non-seafood eater), 3.5 (seafood eater)/5 (dine in)

The service was great. Food – on the other hand – was not. They have great sauces though.

Stella Artois Liberte Non-Alcoholic Beer ($4.50): Woah, it tastes like regular beer. You can’t tell the difference!

So Long Nuong Sate ($10.99): Many of the pieces were chewy and not edible.

Chem chép nướng mỡ hành ($10.99): Mussels were okay.

sò dương nướng mỡ hành ($14.99): The sauce was really good but the clam oozed out a seafood juice when you bite into it. I’m not a fan of seafood taste/smell so this wasn’t for me.

Luon Nuong Muoi Ot ($11.99): I didn’t try it as it didn’t look appetizing but my husband did. They didn’t debone it so there’s a lot of bones in the eel. He said it tasted like they grilled it over an open fire like if you were out camping.

I came here since they first open inside a grocery store on Habor. Food is always good and tasty. Staff is nice and we see new faces every time we came. Parking is not a problem for me, ‘cos we always came here for our afternoon snack, so they are not very busy.
My favorite dishes are chicken feet and “ốc gạo sa tế”.

It’s kind of dark here, even when I edited the brightness. Food is delicious but took long time to wait and the workers were like new, or they didn’t know about customers services. They have Vietnamese bookshelves but I think it’s unnecessary when you come here to eat, it should be put at a boba place than a restaurant.

My food was pretty fresh, the clams were divine in the sauce. The papaya salad was a bit dry and needs more flavoring.

Nice Vietnamese Seafood Restaurant. Seafood items are very good. Everytime we go we get super satiated!

I wish they deboned the fish better. But I’m ok for authenticity’s sake (we don’t deboned fish in south/ southeast Asia) just chew properly!

This is also the kitchen of the famous Pho Akaushi. We had wonderful experience her last week. Chef Trọng came out talked to us and his Pho bowl is spectacular. The broth is rich of flavors, and the beef cuts are very selective. Most delicious bowl of Pho. If you in the area, do not miss.

A very rare seafood joint, which offers Kobe beef phở in, locates right at the heart of Bolsa Avenue is such a wonderful treat for us foodies out here. This restaurant and the Akausuki pho restaurant are one and the same, thus the location is very cramped but homely.
We tried the garlic butter oysters, scallion mussels and scallops, yet only they were terrific. The garlic butter really elevates the whole dish, whereas the other two weren’t so lucky, the scallions were raw and the meat were as dull as water. Do yourself a favor and order everything seafood dishes with garlic butter.
As for the pho, the broth was mediocre, but the meat was there to make up for it. They put thick steak cubes and a handful of Kobe beef and they were beyond delightful. Overall, it is refreshing to see another seafood joint beside Oc&Lau.

Food was just okay, the price paid less than ốc &lẩu or tràm chim restaurant. My friend picked here to try, service was little slow. To me, I prefer paying more but good food and good service.
