I absolutely love the food truck park in downtown Portland. I come to Portland about 5 times a year and hit this place for dinner at least one night each time. Felt like Indian food this time and tried Best Taste of India. Lamb curry, garlic naan, and a mango lassi – seriously good stuff. The lamb was tender, the curry was just the right level of spice and there was enough curry to fully cover the amount of rice. Could not eat it all – large portion size. Naan was great, mango lassi was delicious and creamy.

Absolutely phenomenal. Great spices, fantastic balance. We got plain naan and lamb josh, which go great together and are super flavorful without being too rich, aloo tikki which was hot and savory and thank god not too salty, gulab jamun that wasn’t drown in syrup, and peshawari naan that disappeared before we even made it home it was so good. Cannot rave enough. The Chai was also not too sweet, like most coffee shops do, and really packed a punch. I know I’ve said it a lot but I’m going to say it again: phenomenal flavor, well worth the trip.

I wanted to to explore the Cartlandia Food Pod on SE 82nd near Johnson Creek.
I selected the Best of India for the wide ranging menu.
I ordered the Lamb Curry, Plain Naan Bread, and a Mango Lassi to drink.
It took the Naan Bread fifteen minutes to bake and then another twenty minutes for the Lamb Curry.
The Mango Lasso was disappointing as it was thin and watery.
The Lamb Curry was served with Basmati Rice and was a large amount of food.
The lamb was mildy spiced and
was not overcooked.
The food was average and the drink was disappointing.
It would be interesting to try the other menu items to see if there are better then average.
Parking is available in the food pod lot.

Chicken Tikka Masala was super light in color, too heavy on the cream. The naan was really stretchy/chewy (overworked dough?). The papadam were good though much lighter in color than I have seen before. The rice was good, though I got an under cooked grain in one bite.
My boyfriend liked the Chili Chicken, he said it was “pretty good”.

The people working the cart were so friendly. They let us taste it before they packaged it up for spicyness wich was so nice.

Usually stop in for a wrap at Good&Evil when I bike up springwater… They were closed today so I tried this place instead. Pretty decent veggie wrap! Basically paneer biryani wrapped with Roti.

Is this place even open anymore?
By far my favorite Indian food in Portland but lately every time I try to call or swing by it’s always closed. Very sad.

Their veggie korma is deluxe. A perfect balance of creaminess that’s not too thick. It’s served on fluffy jamine white rice with peas, cauliflower, carrots, and potatoes – topped with cashew halves and rainsins.
Pair it with a mango lassi, veggie samosas, and some naan – you’re gold. Portions are larger so you’ll have leftovers. Awesome customer service as always. Best korma near Montavilla for sure.

I have been eating here for years and driving all the way from Garden Home. Until some time about a year ago you could still catch chef Jazz, and the food was the absolute best. Unfortunately I’m not sure if he sold it but the whole thing has gone down hill. The new guys running it don’t seem to be able to understand while ordering, favorite dishes don’t taste the same, wrong items packed, and some items completely left out. I don’t know what has happened but after the last few visits I’m looking for a new place to get Indian food. They used to live upto the name, now not so much.
