Berwyn Tavern Welcomes New Owners, but Keeps Its Personality
… Pennsylvania Turnpike. A casualty of the pandemic, the building had a long history as a tavern, and McKeon and Zuccarini put in a bid for it.

After a long day of traveling, my family and I stopped into Berwyn Tavern for a bite to eat and a drink. We started off with the cheesesteak egg roll appetizer absolutely amazing and packed with flavor. Definitely a highlight.
For our main dishes, we tried a few different things. First up were the truffle fries, which, unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend. They were just plain fries no truffle oil or toppings as shown in the pictures. That was definitely disappointing.
On the brighter side, the French onion soup was delicious rich, savory, and done right. We also had a side salad that was fresh and crisp. I ordered the shrimp Po’ Boy, which was very good and came with chips. However, the chip portion was extremely small, barely a handful.
My son went with a burger and tater tots, which he enjoyed.
Just a heads-up: this is a true tavern atmosphere. It can get pretty loud, especially when games are on. At times, it was hard to even talk to the server due to the noise level.
Speaking of the staff, the service was excellent. Everyone was friendly and welcoming you really get a laid-back, family vibe as soon as you walk in. People greet you when you enter and say goodbye when you leave, which adds a nice personal touch.
If we lived nearby, this would probably become one of our regular spots. It’s a great place to watch a game, have a few drinks, and enjoy some good food. Like any place, there are a few menu items we wouldn’t order again (looking at you, truffle fries), but there are definitely plenty of other options that hit the mark.
Overall, we had a great experience and would gladly come back the next time we’re in the area.

Cheesesteak – nice toasted sesame roll, but the meat was so chipped apart it was sorta of flavorless and so hard to eat.
Burger – like only char broiled and burnt on the outside
Chicken tacos were decent.

Jenn, Rich and I had a great first time at the Berwyn Tavern. The Cubano sandwich and smoked wings that I had were outstanding!
The staff were very attentive without being intrusive. The three of us were very impressed with the cleanliness of the restrooms. Looking forward to coming back sooner than later to try some other items on the menu.

Awesome diver Bar with great bartenders/Service. Used to have beer specials on the weekends they got rid of them completely. It’s a shame it’s like the new ownership Doesn’t understand they are Not a high-end full price bar they need to implement beer-drink specials for games, etc. and that place would be packed

I visited this place with some of my friends, which is located in the main area of Berwyn. I see a lot of folks who seem to be close groups and locals watching NBA at the time. They have a good collection of beer and nice place to catch some games or spend time with your friends. The service is fast and staff is very attentive. They seem to have an outdoor spot for the service. The parking is challenging at times. Great place. Check it out.

Stop by and play free bar games with AMAZING hosts including my favorite Mikey. You could win free drinks . What can be said about the 5 star Kitchen Staff , Perfect . Amazing restaurant under new ownership. They’re sprucing the place up and delivering exceptional customer service like they do at the other restaurant they own. I highly recommend coming in here to check it out. Plenty of parking out back and a nice outdoor seating area to take advantage of the weather before winter !

Stopped at Berwyn Tavern for my first time during an exciting Sunday. It was the NFC and AFC Sunday games.
The bar is not very huge but the bartenders told me they have a deck which is open when the during warm weather period. The atmosphere was great and super friendly. The bar was pretty crowded but the service was excellent. The staff is great and always ready to talk with customers.
They have a good selection of local/craft beers on tap or bottles. The menu with the sandwiches looked delicious but I got the smoked streak special sandwich (recommended from the bartender) because they have their own smoker. It was DELICIOUS. I tried also some bites from other sandwiches from my friends and I have to say the know what they’re doing here about food!
I think it’s a good place to either hang out alone, with your boy/girlfriend or with a nice friends crew. I will definitely go back soon!

I really can’t comment on the food, although have to say, good job on the onion rings, they were nice and crispy. I just had drinks. The server/bartender very nice guy. The only suggestion I have is to a a small drink menu.
