This place was AWESOME! Stopped by on a Tuesday night around 6 pm. They had a good amount of orders going. Took around 35 min for a chicken sandwich and 3 tenders meal. I don’t know why people complain so much about long waits. There were 2 guys, with a lot of orders, making made to order fried chicken. Give them a break! Also, true greatness takes time. Here’s the review…
Food: 5 stars! The chicken sandwich is the best chicken sandwich I’ve had in Chicago hands down. It is a Nashville sweet heat style sauce, so prepare for it to have that classic Nashville spiced oil with a little bit of honey sweetness. The rest was pickles, sauce, and bun, nice and simple and well done. My wife enjoyed her chicken tenders, but she really love the fries. She thinks they’re battered but I didn’t think so. Maybe some starch on the outside to make em a little extra crispy. Definitely 5 star food experience.
Service: 4 stars! This place was busy an hour before close. Like I said, two guys working the place. One of them was on the POS and working phones too. The 4 stars on service is more for the management. Can we get these guys some back up or have a FOH person doing phones and POS?
Atmosphere: 3 stars. This is basically a chicken shack. Great smells, no frills. Would not eat here with how limited seating is and how many people were standing around waiting. I’d love for there to be a cozier spot to eat because the sandwich fresh out the fryer has got to be insanely good. I still enjoyed the vibes and those smells.
Overall: If you’re thinking about it, just do it, it’s gooooood. I will be back for sure. Thanks BCC!

Once in a while, social media actually lives up to the hype. In this case, it absolutely did. I ordered the chicken sandwich it’s enough to feed four people. It is definitely worth a ride, but I would phone in the order as it’s about 20 minutes to get a sandwich. In this particular case, I didn’t mind because the crowd was incredibly friendly and anyone who had eaten here before said it’s worth the wait. I do love a good hot chicken sandwich and this is hands-down the best.

I ordered a 6 pcs party wing dinner and the chicken was completely burnt. I called back to let them know and instead of apologizing or offering me anything, the woman on the phone told me to order something different next time.
Update after the owners reply:
No one offered me a refund or offered to make the food over. The woman who answered the phone asked me to taste it while I was on the phone to confirm if it was burnt. It was never suggested that I bring the food back, it was suggested that I order something different next time. To that I replied there wouldn’t be a next time. The business’s reply is extremely dishonest.

It was my family’s first time eating from Berwyn Chicken Co. We placed an order online and picked up about 10 minutes after the time listed on the email. The order was ready upon pick up. However, when we got home the shrimp & chicken boxes were missing the mild sauce and the lemonade was not in the bag. I called and informed the person on the phone that I was missing the mild sauces and lemonade. While on the phone, the person asked if I was going to come and pick up the sauces or put us down for them. When I walked in the restaurant, who I assume to be the person I was speaking with on the phone was yelling about the issue to the cook in the back. Speaking about the issue in an exaggerated manner as though I was irate when I called. On the phone, I simply let them know that I was missing the mild sauces that should have been included with the order. I asked if he wanted me to bring the bag back in and his attitude quickly changed. I just accepted the sauces and my lemonade and left.
In short – the food lives up to other reviews and overpriced. It’s nothing special as we believed from social media reviews. Customer Services leave much to be desired.

Been wanting to try this place for a HOT minute and it was worth the wait. Chicken sandwiches are so big they come in a cake box!
Berwyn Hot sandwich has amazing seasoning on it but surprisingly no heat. ♂️ Oak Park Cool sandwich was a great classic chicken sandwich. Having a mix of tots & fries was dope too. Plus, that punk sauce was fire!
My friend said the fish & chips were just as good as when he had it back in Scotland and London.
Definitely gotta go back but gotta find the right time since it took like 40 minutes to get our food. I like that it had a little parking lot, but the place is small with some window seats so I might not be able to bring my kid.

No pictures 2 post we gave the entire bag 2 a homeless man on the corner..

First time here. We tried both types of the chicken sandwiches offered, with a mix of the French fries and tater tots, the wings combo with the mac and cheese, and the chicken Pierre strips combo with the mashed potatoes and gravy. The food was very good, made fresh to order, and the sandwiches were very large in size, and the portions of everything else were of good size and plenty to share. The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was the coleslaw, and I wish I could have tried the other sauces, but they charge extra for each one and it is a bit on the pricey side but worth the trip. Would recommend. Parking is hard to find.

We’ve been here twice already in two weeks and omg, these might be the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. The portions are huge and the sauce is delicious. Definitely recommend!

I’ve tried this place twice. I really want to like it, but it just doesn’t do it for me. Yesterday I picked up a quarter chicken meal with tater tots, 6pc shrimp with Mac n cheese, and ordered a mash/gravy.
The food is pricey, but I wouldn’t mind paying for quality, specially since it’s a local spot. The chicken was nice, it had good flavor. It was crispy on one side, but soggy on the other.
The shrimp were overcooked so the batter tasted burnt and the shrimp were tough/dry. The tater tots were good, the Mac n cheese was too bland and dry for my taste… I didn’t get to taste the mash since they forgot to put it in the bag (should’ve checked before I walked out).
I always tell folks to try it for themselves because maybe I keep catching them on bad days.

I tried this place after seeing it on TikTok a couple of times. I was tired of eating at the usual local spots that I knew, so I made the 30 minute drive to try them out after all of the great reviews. The gentleman who took my order on the phone was polite, helpful, even said having my food ready when I got there would be no problem. He said 15 minutes, I had read the wait is usually a lot longer. And with it being lunchtime I expected as such. Window seating only, and they were all open. Parking was good for this day’s lunchtime. Food was ready when I got there. The POS asked for a tip even though all they did was hand it through a window. But being that they did have my food ready when I got there I tipped. I did not find anything that I liked to drink there. But they had some interesting choices. I ordered the Berwyn Hot Sandwich with the Punk sauce on the side, fries and tots, two Italian Beef Egg rolls, they are what I would call normal size, and a small mashed potatoes. In the bag was just the food, no napkins, no utensils, no ketchup. I opened the box, and as mentioned in another review, the sandwich is greasy. The bottom bun was soaked and kept leaking on my fingers as I ate the sandwich. I put layers of paper towels, my own, as none were included, under the box so the grease did not leak onto my pants or my truck console. It is an orange grease so you are warned! I tried the egg rolls first, so so, I thought they lacked any real taste. Good crunch though. I did eat both of them. Fortunately I had plasticware in my truck and was able to try the mashed potatoes. Again, IMO, no flavor at all. Maybe if they had included salt and pepper packets I could have saved them. There was a bite or two of coleslaw in the box, it was tasteless as well IMO. The sandwich patty is big, had a good flavor, slightly sweet, although that may have been the bun, and a good crunch. I did run into a part of it that was a thin layer of tough, stringy, almost fibrous pieces that I could not bite through. I ran into that about a two thirds of the way of the sandwich in a couple of places and just stopped eating. I tried to show that in the pictures. The highlights were the tots and fries. They were both good! The Punk sauce is very good as well. If I had known I had to provide my own plasticware, napkins, and ketchup from where I bought my drink, I would not have tipped.
