Last night I made the trip to Bertolli’s in River Forest. The crust was super thin and the outside pieces held up well. The middle pieces collected a lot of the grease and were pretty messy. The sauce had a fresh tomato taste with oregano and pepper. The pizza was light on the sauce and I wish that it had more. The cheese had a good flavor and a slight buttery taste. The sausage had a mild flavor and was just ok. It was a decent pizza. If I went back I would definitely order extra sauce and I would probably switch it over to pepperoni.

I ordered 4 large thin crust pizzas at 12:15 on a Sunday for a party. I asked to be able to pick them up at 2:15. The pizzas were ready on time. The price was reasonable compared to other places. Everyone at the party complimented the food. Some people there consider themselves chicago-pizza experts & they rated Bertolli’s in the top 5.

Pizza was great! BUTTTTT for the 1st time in my life I ordered a chicken parmesan dinner and it was literally 2 thin pieces of chicken breast! When I called to ask how it is made , the man that answered said it was chicken with cheese, sauce and a side of bread. I told him it’s usually served with some type of pasta, and he just answered, okay. I originally called to place the order for delivery and they called me back to say they don’t deliver to Maywood I’m literally 1.3 miles away … so how far do they deliver ?

This place has great pizza! A local favorite in River Forest / Oak Park area, but can contend with all the places downtown if not top them. I prefer their pan pizza, but they have thin, deep, and stuffed crust as well. The “River” pizza is the best combo. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming.

This is our favorite tavern style in the area. I love the cheese ratio, it’s less which to me is more. It doesn’t make it as greasy. We always get it we’ll done too. Makes for a nice and crispy crust.

I must admit that this establishment has good food, however I don’t appreciate the misleading with prices. If you go on the website 30 wings are listed as $32 no mention of sauce. I was charged $34 when I first ordered from this place for 30 wings 3 different flavors. I ordered recently and I was told that my total was $40.50 for the same wings from a week ago. I just personally don’t appreciate that. Again food has no issue so far but I don’t like playing the price changing game with no consistency.

Some of the best tavern style I’ve ever had. Thin cracker-like crust plus a complex and savory sauce is perfect for when you are craving pizza!

1st time visit. This is a neighborhood place I have been told about for months. We were looking for something different from our usual pizzerias and this place did not disappoint! Excellent thin crust with just enough crunch and calzone was not bad either.

Extremely busy old school Italian pizza place. The pizza is wrapped in paper like they did in the 80’s. The entire staff was accommodating. The recipe had to been handed down for generations. The first piece brought me back to Grand and Hamlin in Chicago 1983. Friendly staff, Obviously run by great training from the original family. It is nearly a lost art to watch this generation step up and continue the original inspiration. My 3rd trip this month I added a pasta. Linguini with broccoli and garlic. It was amazing. Prices are right for what you get. Pasta dinner was 11.00, x-large 2 topping pizza was like 22.00. I watched as most customers tipped up to 20 percent on a to go order. That says alot about the work ethic of these kids.

Solid food. I have ordered from here many times. Pizzas are consistently good, but so is other stuff too! I like the calzones. Picture is of a chicken, spinach & sum dried tomatoes one. It’s huge! My son got buffalo wings tonight. They are also GOOD!
