Bustling 3-story Mexican restaurant with stone walls, classic Latin fare & live music.

My wife and I ordered two entrees that included a few items: chile relleno, enchiladas, and tamales. The chips and salsa that preceded the platters were fresh and good. The chile relleno was served in a style I never had in the past but was delicious. It came with sliced almonds and a white sauce. Other entree items were also very good, as were the rice and beans, which were cooked perfectly.
The staff was hard at work, especially the busser who was running around non stop, checking on customers, clearing tables, and refilling the water feature with several buckets of water.
Prices were reasonable and the portion was large. We took back leftovers.

Had a good time the other night here with my partner’s family! the staff were nice and they were very kind to accommodate when I got overstimulated from the load music. Overall had a good time and the enchiladas were amazing!

This place was hard to get into. Parking was a disaster. They were really busy so we didn’t get the greatest service. Their micheladas were high priced and smaller than any I’ve gotten from other establishments. Worst micheladas
The food was okay but overpriced for the small amount you got

We had an early dinner here with another couple last Sunday. The bar and dining room were almost empty when we arrived at 5:30. We chose to eat on the patio, which we had to ourselves, to enjoy the lovely day. We shared a pitcher of margaritas, our server offered to add a shot of mango flavor to my wife’s glass. The chips and salsa were excellent, thick and crunchy with a perfect level of heat to the salsa. I ordered the Patriot Plate (chicken enchiladas) with green sauce and whole beans, and I loved every bite. My wife thought the senior quesadilla plate was a bit dry,but it had plenty of chicken, and our friends were happy with their choices. Serving sizes were ample but not excessive. When we left an hour later (we’d been up since 4 AM for the balloon races) the dining room and bar were packed, it looked like a couple of large groups had arrived while we ate.
I picked Bertha’s based mostly on the good reviews and attractive photos on Maps (and the fact that it’s open on Sundays), and it lived up to my expectations. The decor is homey and interesting without feeling overdone. Our server was helpful and friendly. Best of all, I loved my food.

Our weekend in Reno was brightened by a wonderful dining experience at Bertha Miranda’s. Giovanni, our waiter, was amazing, and our drinks were never empty. We hadn’t visited Bertha’s in years, but this visit reminded us why it’s a standout, even during their busy times. Giovanni & Brother It’s clear they’re doing a phenomenal job running a historic Mexican restaurant. Their teamwork and professionalism shined through, especially during a busy night.
My family and I will definitely return the next time we’re in town. If you’re looking for a reliable, warm, and memorable dining experience, Bertha Miranda’s is a great choice.

In a neon-splashed corner of Reno—where bright lights and desert dust share the same streets—**Bertha Miranda’s** stands steady. No flash. No reinvention. Just the unmistakable scent of real Mexican cooking rolling out of the kitchen like it’s been doing this long before trends had a say.
The enchiladas arrive drenched in a sauce that’s been simmered down to its soul—deep, earthy, unapologetic. And the tamales? Exceptional. Soft, perfectly balanced, wrapped around fillings that are rich, seasoned with intention, and made with the kind of care you can actually taste. This isn’t rushed food. It’s patient food.
Rice and beans aren’t filler—they’re treated with respect, seasoned like they matter. Every plate feels generous, like it was meant to satisfy, not just impress.
The dining room hums with regulars, families, and conversations that linger. You get the sense that this place has been part of people’s lives for years—and will be for years to come.
In a city that loves to sparkle, Bertha Miranda’s chooses substance. And that’s exactly why it shines.
