Well worth finding them when they are open. Always great food and service.
The dinning room is always full, so order and ick up is a good option.
Prices are really good for the quality and amount of food.
They are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
They have been in the same spot since 1962.

this could be a five-star experience on any given day. the breaded tenderloin is very moist with a thin crispy crust. unfortunately the bun disintegrated halfway through making it difficult to eat. even so I’d give it 5 stars. the grilled tenderloin was so dry we couldn’t finish it. french fries are nice and crispy; looked like the frozen crinkle cut kind but they were good. the onion rings have nice thick rings with a nice thick batter unfortunately they would not stick together. very difficult to eat. we would have liked to have stopped while riding our bikes on the vandalia trail, but they don’t answer their phone when they’re busy so we had to wait until after the ride and drive back. we were pleased that the sandwiches were wrapped in foil that we can recycle (and did). but the onion rings were in unrecyclable styrofoam.

Not at all being rude by saying this but it was an amazing little spot in the middle of nowhere! We stopped in for a late breakfast from a job site. Food WAS AMAZING! Great flavor, home cooking, fresh ingredients, huge portions, very inexpensive, and friendly staff and local folks eating. Yes it was cash only but worth the trip to an ATM up the street to eat there.

Another hidden Gem. Great home town feel, very friendly staff and great food. Food was cooked perfectly. Pancakes are huge. Real whole blueberries used. We will definitely be back. Cash and check only no cards. Great price for the portions.

Stopped by for breakfast on my way home from Danville. Delicious little diner with homemade food and service with a smile. My smothered sausage skillet was great. Coffee is pretty good too. It’s great to have these little places to eat instead of fast food or chains.

Very tasty and filling lunch. I had the chicken livers and onions, which was delicious and not something you find very often on a restaurant menu. Bring cash or check as they do not accept credit cards.

Went for breakfast on a recent trip. Took a second to find it. Not much seating so we were lucky to come when we did. Everything is homemade that we tried. The owners and other patrons treat you like family. It was a wonderful experience all the way around. Plus you can’t beat the pricing!!!

Bert & Betty’s is your perfect small town Mom & Pop type restaurant. Perfect comfort food! They only take cash or checks, but the prices are low, food is good and you won’t leave hungry. Check their hours of operation before you go, because they aren’t open everyday. Oh and they have a great choice of pies for dessert that you aren’t going to want to miss.
