Exceptional service. She was very attentive to my coffee and meal. Great ambiance and very clean. The kitchen was super fast and cooked my sirloin burger and OE eggs perfectly. The meat was very good quality. The marble rye toast was a nice bonus and stayed moist the entire meal. They also serve bloody’s, which is nice for a weekend brunch. Great find.

The food was quite delicious with very large servings and tasty as well. The clam chowder was tasty but almost too thick but tasted homemade. The baked stuffed shrimp were delicious and the pickled beets were tasty. I took home the bread pudding, but it was quite dry, good flavor though. I brought my mashed potatoes and gravy home and they were tasty red potatoes. My son got meatloaf and gravy with mashed potatoes and gravy and he was satisfied. He brought some carrot cake home and it was flavorful and moist, would definitely get again. Our other friend got chicken tenders with fries and coleslaw. Not really good at checking for drinks but the service was pleasant. They were out of prime rib for two weeks from now. I’d like to try breakfast but wouldn’t say this is a must to go to but clean and food tasted alright.

Biggest prime rib steak ever.
It looks like a roast instead of a steak. Oh boy. It tasted great, too. Several in the group had the crab stuffed shrimp, which were also great. We enjoyed dining in the dining car. Good service, good food, good ambiance and great family gathering.

Go with a BIG appetite, portions are VERY generous. Food was great!! Place is pretty popular, so be prepared to have at least a small wait…but it is totally worth it. You will bring food home with you and it’s just as good the next day.

Love the petite fried fisherman platter – fresh, not too greasy, perfect crisp, and you can’t best the price! Especially for lunch. Great seafood as well as comfort food.

Pictured: fried wholebelly clams app, petite fisherman platter (scrod, fries, whole bellies, scallops shrimp), baked stuffed shrimp, and rice pilaf.

You will not go hungry here! Get there early as they might run out of their massive amazing tasting prime rib!! Its great to be able to eat inside of a train. Staff was nice. Food came out fast and fresh. Pricing was very good for amount of food you get. They do offer reservations for larger groups, which I would recommend!

The good: arrived at 3:00pm, wait 5 minutes, sat in the train car. Comfortable. Wife ordered pork chops. 3 boneless chops. Two cooked nicely, one slightly too pink. Saved to eat later. I ordered the medium prime rib. Gigantic. I ate the outside and saved the interior for later. Ordered medium rare. Outside 1″ cooked to brown. Very tasty. Little salt. Inside, pink & very moist, could have been hotter. Took about 3lbs home. Dog enjoying the rib. Potatoes a gratin were fantastic.

Restrooms we’re small, but clean.

General condition: well maintained; smells made me hungry; tables and chairs clean.

Service was very good. Server was very attentive. Kept drink glasses filled.

Going back to try the seafood meals next.

Prime rib is on point! Planned a whole day trip to make it to Bernie’s and it was worth it
Split this small prime rib with my love and still had TONS of leftovers to take home
Service was mediocre

Update 12/8/18 after a second trip to Bernie’s I stand by my first review! Best prime rib around!! This time we sat in the train section of the restaurant and it made the experience even better than the 1st time
The only problem I have is that I wish Bernie’s was closer to me so I could try more of their menu

Friendly wait staff. After taking our drink orders the waitress asked if we had any questions about the menu. I knew then that it was going to be good. I had the big salad with Cajun chicken. Salad was crisp and fresh. The chicken was nicely spiced and not dry at all. My girlfriend had a sliced steak salad. Steak was cooked to perfection and her salad was also fresh and crisp. Our favorite part was the waitress. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Easy 5 stars and we’ll definitely be back!

Iconic place to enjoy steak in MA.
Good:
-Huge parking lots
-Easy to find
-Friendly and helpful staff
-The steak is awesome, and huge
-Wide options for lunch and dinner
-Have private area for more than 4 people, but only 1 room
-Unique atmosphere, but cozy

Bad:
-The steak is huge, to go mostly
-Because it’s in an old train, so seats are close to each other.
-Noisy when busy
-More than one hr drive if you’re in Boston (but worth it)
