It’s a small yet cute little cafe tucked away in a quaint little town, but it’s definitely a must try if you’re in the area! The raisin bread french toast was unlike any other one I’ve had, more places should do this in my opinion! I’ll be back!

I’m new to town and invited family over, so we decided to try this place for the first time. Big mistake. The waitress was extremely rude and clearly impatient, rushing us to order even though we told her it was our first time and we wanted a moment to look at the menu. Mind you, there was only ONE other table in the entire place, so there was absolutely no excuse for the attitude.
Because she couldn’t bother to wait, she sent another waitress to take our order, and we again said we weren’t ready. Then the original waitress came back and asked again if we were ready. When my family member started ordering beginning with food, the waitress snapped back, “That’s not a drink order, that’s food,” in the rudest tone possible. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful.
Horrible service from start to finish. Being Hispanic doesn’t give anyone a free pass to treat other Hispanics with disrespect. Warning if this is how they treat new customers, don’t come.

It was Prime Rib night, and both the quality and quantity of the food was impressive! Actually, the New England Clam Chowder was a nice standout! And, speaking of standouts, our server, Lucy, was amazing! She not only took care of us beautifully, but she took care of the entire area with such grace and poise that Audrey Hepburn would have been impressed! Thank you Lucy for taking such good care of us, and it was a pleasure watching you taking care of everyone this evening!

I was surprised to find a restaurant with excellent food and reasonable prices in swanky Bedminster. The pumpkin soup was as good or better than my best butternut squash. The chicken salad in my wrap was fresh and yummy. The bonus thick potato chips in the copper cup — memorable. Worth a 20-minute shlep from my more humble zip code!

Bernards Cafe is a favorite spot for affordable comfort food. You won’t be coming here for the trendy experience or grand cuisine, but you also won’t be disappointed. The menu selection is massive, making it an ideal spot for a good, quick, hearty meal or takeout when you get tired of the million Italian restaurants in Bernardsville. We especially love the meatloaf, the French dip, prime rib sandwich au jus, Jalapeño poppers, French onion soup, pastas, and more, but you’ll definitely want to have their famous Osso Bucco. Also, much respect to Bernards Cafe for not inflating their prices with the usual “Barnardsville Tax” where everything in town is 20-40% more expensive than it should be. This is a family favorite we enjoy a couple times a month. Well recommended.

A calm breakfast experience with the kids here. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. The kid activity they provided was unique and kept my child busy. This could become our go-to brunch place.

LOVE Bernards Cafe. Live locally in town and they are always our go to if we want a salad or wrap, but they also have great dinner specials and SOUPS!! Appreciate their pricing always being pretty reasonable.

In restaurant and watched delivery drivers on their 3rd pickup while I sat for over an hour and had not been served. They prioritize DoorDash before in restaurant service. I was a regular customer that won’t be coming back.

The Bernards Cafe is a gem in our town of Bernardsville. My favorite item on the menu is the short rib dinner. Reasonably priced and delicious, you won’t be disappointed!

Nice lunch. Came later on Presidents Day. Sat down, drink order taken. About 15 minutes until drinks arrived and order taken Grilled Portobello Sandwich and Italian Hot Dog. Food arrived about 20 minutes later. Both delicious. Delays seem due to short staffing. Absolutely will come back. Next visit we had Irish Eggs Benedict and Veggie omelet. Both scrumptious!
