Despite Cafe in the name, I would categorize Bernards as being a higher end diner. The atmosphere was very cozy and clean. The menu is typical diner fare, but above average in quality. My Reuben was toasted to perfection, having just the right amount of sauerkraut and tender , flavorful, corned beef. Not chewy or overly fatty. The onion rings were tasty and mozzarella sticks about as good as they can get. The coffee was above average and well worth a refill. Service was quick but on par with typical diner service. I would definitely go back there again.

Picked up food for takeout. After I got back to work I realized that they charged me the wrong amount. Coworker told me she got the wrong soup. Called and explained and manager said I got a soda, which I did not. Manager goes “ok, so I owe ya a soda.”

Average breakfast spot. It didn’t seem like the most sanitary place. The place mats smelled and the food couldn’t make up for it. I got the corned beef hash with poached eggs, home fries, and rye toast. Everything was lackluster, especially the corned beef which tasted canned.

Have been here for breakfast numerous times and enjoyed. The staff has never been warm and friendly but efficient. This will be our last visit. There was something wrong with my kids waffles it had a sour almost lemon taste. When she asked if everything was good I told her the waffles were sour. She walked away and never returned another lady got our check. I didn’t want a free meal but wanted to tell her something was wrong with it. She wasn’t the friendliest so not sure what I expected. Wouldn’t recommend this place.

Went for lunch after a doctor’s appointment. It’s a small place but it doesn’t seem crowded even though the place was full. I had a spicy black bean burger which came with fries and a small cup of guacamole. Cheddar cheese lettuce and tomato to garnish with a nice toasted bun. Very tasty burger and the fries were nice and crispy. If you’re in the area do stop in. The menu is extensive and the prices are good.

Living in Europe, our hopes weren’t high, but we were pleasantly surprised by delicious food, staff who were attentive but not hovering, and a clean facility with a well stocked bathroom. The Jammer sandwich was great, and it’s nice to eat fluffy pancakes again. Thanks Bernard’s for a great breakfast.

It’s a quaint, diner style cafe with an extensive menu!.. the veggie omelette I ordered was pretty good, but the avocado toast was average. Overall a good cafe for brunch or lunch!

We placed an order through Uber eats and put notes asking the restaurant to be careful with nuts due to food allergies. The notes were completely ignored and luckily my son didn’t eat the food but was able to see that the pesto mayo was put on the sandwich otherwise he would probably be in the hospital right now. For the total disregard of something so important, I will never order from this place again.

Ssssssh. This place has some great subs. Yes, I said subs! I got the #4 Classic Italian which is prosciutto, mozzarella, arugula, oil/vinegar and spices (I added onions and tomato’s). The rolls are what you want on a sub. Soft inside and a nice crunch on the outside. I like the #3, The Italian as well and the rest of the subs are standard. The owner who was there and working at the time I ordered has been in the Hospitality business since opening the Chatham Sandwich Shop in 1979. It’s no secret why the subs are awesome here! I recommend you order on line if you are getting multiple subs just to cut down on your wait time! Manga!
