Bernard’s sets the bar when it comes to New England Chinese food! You get what you pay for. They also achieve amazing flavors without MSG. A few of the things that I have had recently.
Hot and Sour soup, absolutely delicious! Great flavor with just the right kick.
Shrimp with Lobster sauce is delicious! They make it the right way with the perfect balance of black beans and egg. Not a heavy sodium taste and it’s not sweet. It’s perfect!
The Orange Beef is a new favorite dish. The Beef is tender, it has a thin batter with a little crisp. The orange flavors were perfect. Very mild heat.
Their Bone-in Ribs are also second to none. Very tender, little gems of crisp edges in a perfec glaze that’s not overly sweet.
Chicken Wings have the perfect crisp on the outside, juicy on the inside, and delicious aromatics that make them one of the best there is.
Pan fried Peking Ravioli’s were delicious with a generous amount of meat mixed with the perfect spices.
Teriyaki was absolutely delicious and close to double the size of a piece you would order anywhere else.
Lastly, my daughter and I got pineapple with the check! I love that!
I eat a lot of Chinese food and this has moved to the top of my list!!
Edit, we have been a bunch of times now. Everything has been perfect. Best New England Style Chinese Food in New England!!

Amazingly fresh American Chinese food. Dumplings w sesame, boneless pork spare ribs, general tso’s, and sautéed string beans were exactly what want, with very high qualify ingredients. Chicken was super tender, not dry and overcooked. Sauce on dumplings was stand out to the point we saved it for other dishes. Really wanted to try the Peking Duck, but they were sold out on a busy day

My favorite Chinese restaurant in the whole of Boston. They use quality and fresh ingredients. The food taste so good. The restaurant is nice and clean. The staff are friendly and eager to serve. We come here for birthday celebrations, family dinner, date nights, or quick meal. I love to start with sesame noodles, fried pancake, and hot and sour soup. The Peking duck is so good, the skin is so crispy and the meat is juicy. They even roll them up for you. My other favorite are Chilean sea bass with vegetables, sweet and sour chicken, Mahpo Tofu, lobster noodle, Crispy egg noodle with chicken. They also have a special noodle e-mee which need to be order in advance usually for special occasion. The price is also very reasonable.

I went inside this restaurant instantly got seated. We had an amazing service, our server setup all of our lap napkins, and got us drinks after only a minute of ordering. Then he gave us options and explained all of the food that we ordered so we knew what we got, and after 5 minutes we got food for 8 items. Their duck was the best duck I’ve ever had in my entire life and everything was priced fairly for what we have gotten. 10/10 would recommend

Quintessential culinary fare for a borderline dysfunctional Jewish family on Christmas night. Everything delicious, as expected. Even the drinks, that I of course did not drink as I am under the legal drinking age.

Came 45 mins before close, was told by the bartender that we can’t come in and eat. Change your hours if you don’t want people to eat at your establishment before you close. I would understand if it was within a half hour…

Bernard’s exceeds expectations. To start their lychee martini is one of the best hands down. If you are looking for a traditional Mai Tai, get ready to explore one of the wonders of the world. Where they really excel is their food. These but not limited to, are the best items: Steamed wontons in peanut sauce, sirloin steak, scallops in clay hotpot, crispy fried Chilean seabass, ginger scallion lobster, fried angel hair pasta (any protein or vegetable).
Update I came back during Labor Day Weekend and tried a rather unique rice dish called Young Chow Fried Rice. It’s a white rice dish with a gravy that is paired with green beans, shrimp, chicken, squid, and mushroom.

Long wait for a table, even with a reservation, so we had to wait an additional 10 minutes for one. (-1 star). It took a while to get a waiter, and they were out of Peking duck after we ordered it, so we had to put in a new order. Can’t blame them. Good food, pricey, though. If you want less upscale Americanized Chinese food, go somewhere else.
