I remember this place as a local pub from over 50-years ago. I always thought it was a shame that it was dormant for so many years. Noticing that it had opened as a restaurant on Google Maps, and with most ratings at 5 I decided to try it. The building itself has not changed much in 50 years including the interior. The new restaurant owners did some work to clean away some of the aging, like refinished floors. One of the interesting things about such an old building, not a straight line in the place, sloped floors and slanted walls, a reminder of the building’s long history. The restaurant is served by a large window air conditioner located in the area where the bar used to be and there is a cute stove-like fireplace in the restaurant area, perhaps for ambience later in the year. When the young lady offered a drink on my arrival, only soft drinks, no alcoholic offerings. Perhaps wine, etc. will come later as liquor licenses in NYS are tough to obtain. They have an impressive menu and I opted for potato skins and the half-a-duck meal. Appetizers usually come out before the meal but both were served at the same time. The two young ladies that provided the service were polite but are obviously new to the hospitality arena. With menu item pricing in the 4-star level area more attentiveness to customers is warranted. An observation, it looks like a mother and her two daughters are running the venue. With broken English I surmise they are chasing the American dream and the overall effort of all three should be applauded, I hope they make it. At this time all of the 5-star reviews seem suspicious, no alcohol, better than average menu, good food preparation effort, below average service, extremely dated interior, and exterior.

Food is really good and I loved that since we did take out they didn’t pile everything on the burger they separated it so it wouldn’t get soggy!! Awesome move.

I came here by myself just to enjoy a quiet meal, and I was really impressed. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, perfect for someone dining alone. The staff was kind and attentive without making me feel out of place. Service was quick, but I never felt rushed. Everything from the seating to the lighting made the experience feel comfortable and relaxed. The food was excellent — fresh, well-prepared, and served at the perfect temperature. It was a peaceful and satisfying visit from start to finish. I’ll definitely be coming back.

Wow, what a great spot! We were heading through town and stopped in for take out. We got coconut shrimp with Thai sauce and boy, was it good! I got the fish fry sandwich with fries and coleslaw. Top notch! Hubby got the open faced turkey sandwich with fixins’ and he loved it! We will definitely be back and will spread the word about this gem of a place.

Berlin House Restaurant had only been open for a few weeks but they were already a local favorite. The food came out hot and with great presentation. And the taste did not disappoint. I did kind of wish I had ordered a burger too with how another diner’s burger came out looking and smelling.
