What a lovely place to celebrate (early) Valentine’s Day! The menu was fun and everything was served fresh with great care and thought. The owner continuously checked up on us which made us feel super welcomed! The Nashville Hot Chicken was a bit too crispy for my liking, but that was quickly set right by a complementary basque cheesecake with burnt caramel (which may be the best we’ve ever had). The atmosphere is so thoughtfully decorated and beautiful and everything is spotless. The service was also great, of course. The cocktails were another highlight; we thoroughly enjoyed the passion fruit martini and winter colada. I would give 6 stars if I could!

Had a lovely experience at Berkeley North yesterday. Had their set menu which is $120 and priced for 2 people. I did notice for $118 they had a gluten free option for the set menu as well. It was a lovely blend of vegetarian and meat options. The steak frites were amazing and honestly cooked to perfection, but I think the star of the show was the eggplant dish. They had just started their winter cocktail menu yesterday and they are worth trying! The winter colada was very crisp and delicious as well as the whimsical cup. The apertivi was a lovely take on a negroni. All around great atmosphere, service and food/drinks.

I, along with my very good friend Carol, visited Hamilton on September 13th for lunch at Berkeley North. We love going to different cities and restaurants.

The decor inside is light, bright and very modern with comfortable seating. The exposed brick on either side is beautiful and compliments the decor. A lovely outdoor patio compliments the front of the restaurant.

We had a truly distinctive and revitalizing beverage experience. My very good friend selected the pineapple frizz, made with pineapple, angostura, and ginger beer, visible in the glass on the right. My choice was the spiced mint and oolong, blending pink peppercorn, oolong tea, mint and honey. ❤️❤️

Our dining experience began with the kohlrabi salad, expertly prepared with shaved kohlrabi, cucumber, honey crisp apple, burnt chimichurri, marinated cheese, and pumpkin seeds. The combination was exceptionally delicious, light, and refreshing, leaving a lasting impression on our palates and ensuring it would not be our last. The bartender mentioned this salad is very popular, no wonder. ❤️❤️❤️

The bartender, waitstaff and kitchen staff are very personable.

A special thank you to Rebecca. She’s the sweetest, kindest, so very personable and a sweetheart. Great service as well.

MY FRIEND AND I RECOMMEND!!!!

Beautiful space with a warm atmosphere. Food was excellent and met expectations. I’ve been wanting to try this restaurant out for a while. Great service and our server (Robert) was very attentive.

My wife and I ordered from a fixed, gluten free dinner menu for two, so that she didn’t have to worry about what she could and couldn’t eat. Our server made sure to identify that there is some cross contamination with the deep fryer, which highlighted the attentiveness to customer allergies. So more gluten friendly than gluten free, but still an available option.

We had corn ribs, kohlrabi salad, and fried cauliflower as appetizers. Then I had the trout and potatoes, while she had a pasta dish. Dessert was strawberries and cream, and a Basque cheesecake (not GF).

Amazing experience and will definitely be planning another visit.

Can’t rate the food yet because we have been here for 55 minutes for a 12:15 lunch reservation and have not seen a single bite… 5 tables of 2 and one of 6.
Maybe more than one server is needed… especially when he also has to make cocktails!! Not sure if he’s also cooking but we will keep you posted!
UPDATE – food arrived… wished we only the eggplant. It was simply amazing. Sadly the cauliflower and corn were very basic (corn was cold) and lacked flavour. This may be the first time I asked a server for salt at a Hamilton restaurant!
Glad we checked this one off our food bucket list but won’t be returning.

Been here many time but this my first time to leave a review. Very small menu. The tuna crudu was a hit. The steak was chewy. The cheese cake was a delight. Very nice service. The trout was very dry. The duck nice was very satisfying. Will not come back but I will leave a 5 star for all the other good times

Highly awarded restaurant worthy of all its awards. Staff are very friendly. The food is amazing. The teriyaki eggplant is a unique item and very tasty. The sourdough with fresh cheese smells and tastes amazing. The gnocchi just melts in your mouth and is made in house. You can taste the fresh quality ingredients. All the flavours work so well. Clean facility. Nicely decorated. Great atmosphere. Patio available. Free WiFi. No credit card surcharge. Prices can be a little better for the portion. The mushroom dumplings are overrated and overpriced. Any basic Chinese Restaurant does it far better.

I was expecting so much more from this place after seeing their 2024 Michelin
award. It was okay but definitely was not what we expected. We got stale bread with our 1st course, we asked about it but they said that’s how it is. It was not just crunchy but definitely stale. I will say that the Cornish Hen was absolutely excellent as were the potatoes that came with it. The cucumber salad lacked flavour.

Food quality is high and the service is good. Get the teriyaki dipping sauce for the fried chicken sandwich.
Would be nice to have some non alcoholic drinks options.
Good place to go for a quick meal.
Parked across the street for $15. $5 for every 30 minutes on a weekday. Kind of expensive in my opinion.

Used to come here regularly, and revisited after a while. Had high hopes from my previous experiences, and their insistence on displaying their Michelin mention prominently everywhere. We visited on a Friday night, and the covers should have been an indication.
Service was odd, like there was no organisation, or planning. Touches by inconsistent team members, no conversation on the menu, and more drinks not offered or suggested.
Good – should have walked out on the first bite. Had the set menu, which ended up being full portions of the normal menu, with no switch up for the specific menu. The first dish (eggplant) was so crunchy and tough I thought I’d break my teeth. We joked with every chomp. The rest of the food was more palatable, however portions were too large for this menu, and we should have cut off the dishes 2 or 3 earlier.
It does not have the same vibe as before. It seems like they’re struggling. I hope they can turn this around, as it was such a great spot before, and with some focus it can be again.
