I’ve never met a meal at Bergeron’s that I didn’t love. My favorite part of the week is Monday, when the weekly menu comes out. I get a take-out lunch once a week, so I like choosing which day I’ll go, lol. Some personal favorite dishes are chicken piccata, shrimp quesadillas , Asian glazed salmon. Today I had the Cornbread and Cranberry Stuffed Chicken ; it was so good that I had to write my first ever Google review. Staff is always friendly and the prices are hard to beat. $13 for a entrée and two sides. Their desserts are fantastic too!

I was impressed again with my food at Bergeron’s City Market.
I had the fried fish and fried shrimp. The breading/batter on my shrimp was a little clumped up in a few areas of the shrimp, like they were ganged up in the fry basket, but the texture and flavor was very good. The fish had a corn meal batter which was crispy and seasoned just right. I liked the two different batters, corn meal for the fish, flour for the shrimp. My sides were cabbage which had greens and sausage in it. The cabbage was fresh and not over done. The macaroni and cheese was obviously homemade with a Béchamel sauce, and spiral noodles. I generally always get the tossed Green salad, which is in a creamy vinaigrette. I added a little salt for my taste.
The shrimp creole was good. It was homemade and had a great taste. The bland white rice really stole from the red gravy flavor. I will say again the dish was good. It was so good, I bought some of the same red sauce for the house. These are only small things I thought of while posting this.
The stuffed bell pepper had a crawfish stuffing which had gobs of crawfish. It was all thriller and not much filler. The bread pudding was excellent.
I will be back !! I enjoy having fresh homemade food ready to eat !!! And even bought Togo stuff to cook at the house
I forgot to mention the homemade tartar sauce is zippy and I love it ! The cocktail sauce was great too !!!

Wow! Chicken Piccata! Wow! Only $13 for freshly made Chicken Piccata with not one, but TWO sides (pasta & peas for me!)? No way! I can tell this food is fresh & NEVER frozen. If Bergeron’s was publicly traded, I would invest because this place ain’t going anywhere with meals like this every day! Best deal in town I tell ya! See ya tomorrow…and the next day…and the next!

Top notch service. Food is delectable. Well seasoned with a mellow flavor. Like Cajun on a diet (enough emph without too much) with a fresh taste that will make you want to try the whole menu but you’re delightfully full. The chef definitely cooks with love. First time had it was for a company event and every chance I get I swing through (during lunch). Definitely a hot spot but one of BR best kept secrets. Just get there before 2pm.

Saw it on WBRZ and decided to drop in…
IMHO… it reminds me of California… light on oil, butter, grease and excessive seasonings. BUT I like mine, double buttered, heavy on the seasonings and piping hot! So, for that reason… it’s good. If you’re a senior, this is IT! If you like Piccadilly, it’s five stars! Honestly, it’s just ok. Nice atmosphere, tho.

I had been hearing about this place a lot from my best friend. She raves about the chicken piccata. It did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The piccata was wonderful, but I have to say that the carrot cake was the best I’d ever had. I will be going back if for nothing more than the carrot cake.
