I placed an online pickup order with Beresovsky’s via Uber Eats and went to pick it up at the time the app told me it would be ready. When I arrived at the restaurant, there was no one up front and it took about 10 minutes for a worker to finally come out and ask if myself and the other customers needed help. I told the worker I was there to pick up an Uber Eats order that was ready and she informed me that they were still preparing it. I ended up waiting an additional 10 minutes to finally get the order, making it 20 minutes later than the time I was told it would be ready. When I asked what the delay was, the worker simply blamed it on the app and offered no apology or discount. Food was good, but not worth the subpar customer service.

Here’s a “Herbert’s Fave,” currently their only pastrami sammich on the menu. This place has the best pastrami in southeast DC! Just kidding, let’s get real, this place has among the best pastrami this reviewer has tasted in the entire DC metro area! It’s not hand carved like Katz’s in NY, rather, it’s sliced on a meat slicing machine, but it’s still super tender, moist, and delicious.

The tomatoes included with the sandwich were perfectly ripe, and the marbled swirl rye bread was perfectly-toasted. The half pickle was just the right portion, and the cole slaw was worth eating, albeit a bit heavy on the mayo. But, that’s the way I like it. I’ll most definitely be back here again to try some corned beef next time, and, sooner or later, some more pastrami.

The location, across from the baseball park, and one block from Navy Yard Metro station on the green line, is incredible; I do speculate the sandwich prices will soon be increasing before long, so, get in and try this place soon!

There is great patio seating, and a lunch counter inside for a winter time nosh.

I had a really lovely experience with Beresovsky’s. The cashier was lovely. Friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. The store manager happened to stop by the store and was equally friendly and welcoming. I tried the seasonal Pho Inspired French Dip. It really hit the spot and had plenty of sauce plus au jus for dipping. I was also convinced to try the potato salad. It was very creamy. Would like to go back and try the rest of the menu.

Right across the street from Nationals Park is Beresovsky’s Deli, a deli that serves large sandwiches for under $15. Meeting a friend for lunch, I ordered the “Herbert’s Fave” with pastrami, slaw, and mustard on marble rye. It was very filling, messy, and tasty! I added a soda and chips making my bill just under $20. There are a few window seats inside, but the main seating is outside. Restrooms are inside the Gatsby, a restaurant next door owned by the same group.

If you have a craving for corned beef or pastrami this place will satisfy you. Its location next to the ballpark is perfect for a pregame meal. The knishes are excellent, particularly the pastrami knish. The coleslaw was very good too. No one will ever describe these sandwiches as overstuffed, but they are certainly adequate.

Fantastic pastrami Reuben with so much more meat than I was expecting for the price! We also got a Papa Eddie sandwich and it was super flavorful and had a nice soft roll. I can’t wait to go back and try more, especially their alcoholic milkshakes! Service was quick on only their second day open.

Picked up the Rueben, the Papa Eddie Dip Sandwich along with the Pastrami Knish for the Nats game last Saturday, April 20, 2024.
I thought my review as a native New Yorker would be on the meat within the sandwich. It was decent experience, until my friend got to the 2nd half of the Papa Eddie.
The Bread had mold on the bottom when she picked it up. We both stopped eating our sandwiches and got something else from the ballpark. The Pastrami Knish was safe (We ate that first).
I reached out to the restaurant itself that day with no response so far, so now I’ll post here.
Experience was great otherwise, nice place, friendly workers. Was disappointed by the quality of food. Moldy bread was a little scary to see from a kitchen.

As a native New York I take seriously when restaurants claim to have NY-style delis, pizza, or bagels. As for Beresovsky’s it’s great & much needed deli to the area but is NOT a NY-style delicatessen. The service is wonderful and very friendly( not NY style…but I prefer it)
I got the Rueben & side order pickle $15
The sandwiches are good priced for the area, the bread is big and toasted well with large servings of meat. It was a tasty and filling however I noticed huge differences between a NY Reuben. Unfortunately, not to their fault, the area doesn’t have the demand for or supply of good traditional Jewish meats and food. The meat is sliced like everywhere else here, always large slabs; never thin sliced!!! The meat had a very smoky flavor and was very heavy on the fat. The Pickle was half sliced and though tasted semi-dill did not remind of pickles back in NY.

I may be going back to try the pastrami, but if I do I’ll be sure to bring the owners some of the best NY style pastrami, corn beef, chopped liver from Lido Kosher Delicatessen

It seemed pets are welcome & have treats for

I will likely not be returning. I got the Ruthie’s Reuban and latkes. The corned beef in the sandwich was not seasoned and had no flavor. The saurkraut was also unflavored so it just tasted like mush. The latkes were small, thin, but also somehow soggy. I was also the only customer there so it’s not like they were backed up with orders or anything. The set up of the place is also weird; all barstools screwed into the ground. All the chairs either face the window outside or a wall, so you can’t sit across from someone or be in a big group. I’ve gone to places like Katz’s Deli in NYC and hold them as the best pastrami or corned beef place around. If you’re looking for something like that, don’t come here.

The space was smaller than I expected, but the food was just as good as I had hoped. I got the Reuben. Also very happy to find a black and white cookie that was at least representative of, if not authentic, New York City.
