The Duo Meat & Meatballs Phở really stood out. The broth is freshly brewed daily by simmering beef bones and chicken for hours, with no MSG added. It’s incredibly clean, fragrant and comforting — no heavy or dry aftertaste at all.
The beef quality is excellent. They use sirloin and ribeye steak cuts, lightly cooked so the meat stays very tender and fresh, pairing beautifully with the broth. The crispy beef meatballs added another layer of texture, making the bowl even more satisfying.
We also tried the Grilled Chicken Bun Cha, which delivered classic Hanoi-style flavours. The grilled chicken was juicy with a smoky char, served with vermicelli and a well-balanced pickled sauce. Adding the chicken soup on the side was a great touch.
The Classic Ham Bánh Mì was well executed too — crisp baguette, generous filling of pork liver pâté and roasted pork, balanced with fresh herbs, pickles and cucumber.
Great Vietnamese comfort food in a beautiful CHIJMES setting. Highly recommended, especially for phở lovers.
Initially we wanted the outdoor seating but it wasn’t really conducive. The female server was friendly and kind to let us have a change of mind to switch to indoor seating.
The restaurant wasn’t too packed on a weekday night.
The servings were huge and I like the flavourful pho. One of the better ones you can find in SG. The drinks though economical, could be better. The lemongrass was quite diluted and had little taste or fragrance. We all liked what we ordered. A good place to visit if you have some cravings for Vietnamese food. As the seating capacity is not big, it might be a good idea to make reservations.
Also the story of the Mai’s Kitchen being shared to us and everything was so authentic.
Kudos to the team. Keep up the great job, really enjoy the hospitality been serve by this serious team here!
