Interesting place. Food took a little while to come out. Husband got the blackened salmon over a delicious cheesy pasta with red and green peppers in it. He loved it. I got a scallop, shrimp and fish baked dish which was very tasty though not huge portions, definitely sufficient .The sides on mine were mashed potatoes and asparagus, the potatoes could have been a bit warmer and some of the asparagus was a bit overcooked. The seasoning on the asparagus was very good. Both were approximately $26. I had a grey goose and soda water with lime, very good. They had entertainment starting at 7:00 a wonderful man and woman with beautiful voices, not too loud which was nice to carry on a conversation.

I don’t know what all the bad reviews are about. We came 01/11/25 and were seated immediately by our server Ana Lisa. She was friendly, attentive and human. Ordered onion rings, steak tips and fish and chips. Steak was cooked perfectly, the fish was fresh and portions large. Beers were only $6. Chairs were comfortable but my only complaint would be the music. Not my type and a little too loud for a normal sit down dinner. We’ll definitely be back.

Visited Bento’s for the first time. They’ve been open for 2 weeks. Still very early in the process and working out the kinks. With that said here’s my experience. Sat at the bar for some lunch. Started with their chowder and stuffed quahog. Crackers for soup and butter for stuffie offered after they came out. Thought both were okay. Had their Portuguese burger. Asked for a medium cook, came out well done. Thought it was a little bland. Was supposed to come with a sauce and had to ask for it. Sauce does add some flavor. Asked for sweet potatoe fries and got regular fries without a heads up. Thought it was okay as well. Friendly staff. Had to seek them out at times. Place wasn’t that busy. Had high hopes. Will eventually give them another try. Running a business is tough, trying to be nice here. ♂️

The food is extremely mediocre for what you’re paying. The seafood was meh. Dry and no flavor. Portuguese steak was fatty. Also, the menu says Jazmine rice and that’s definitely not Jazmine rice that was served. Cute place and atmosphere but the food could use a lot of work for what you’re paying. It was also extremely cold in the lower level. Like freezing.

I had an awesome time at Bentos with my sis-in-law for our birthday, the atmosphere is so chill, relaxing and friendly during the day. The food and drinks were very delicious I definitely will be coming back. I have to experience the night life for Grown and Sexy Ladies Night. The bar and lounge was very classy and sophisticated. Family friendly, so nice you could even come in with your family and children in the day and enjoy great food. 5 stars across the board. Please everyone let’s work on keeping this nice place open. You won’t be disappointed.

Bento’s Bar and Grill has a refreshing energy you don’t find at most places in New Bedford. It feels more like a real club great music, lively crowd, and a cool atmosphere. The menu had some solid options, and everything we tried was on point. Karaoke on Thursdays is a blast. Definitely worth checking out!

Hip young staff, aim to please, very polite and helpful. The vibe is great mellow and clean with a very unique fresh design. It goes from restaurant vibes to night club vibes seamlessly. Transitions well. There is even food for vegetarians which is excellent for me and my family. They are new and learning and as i continue to support this establishment they continue to learn and respond to feedback. Its a great place to go with family and i even had the chance to go to a private party there. Musical guests all the time. Thursday karaoke night. This is going to be the place to be. We are invested in this place downtown New B good location so we are planning to continue to support this business. Bentos on the rise.

Had chowder and quahog.to start. The quahog was on the small side and not as tasty as I’d hoped. The chowder was very tasty but served warm. They did warm it with no problem. I had lobster Mac and cheese. Not cheesy enough for me and a not too generous amount of lobster, not bad by any means but far from.the best I’ve had. My bloody mary was excellent with every garnish you could think of. Service was prompt and courteous and food came quickly. It was not busy. It came to 64. 00 for 1 person and a $15. Tip brought it to $79..on the high side I’d say. Glad I was alone.
