Taiwan comfort food, bento (lunchbox) styles. Reasonable price.
You get to pick one protein and 3 sides.
Protein:
Fried Chicken- supposedly their known dish. It was alright. Maybe it was not freshly fried.
Fried Pork Chop – dried and tough. And soaked in some brown sauce. Meh
Sides:
Fried pumpkins – not bad
Mapo tofu – not bad
Eggplants- not bad
Stir fried Bean Sprouts – meh
They do have special soup of the day for additional cost.
The place is clean and staffs are nice. This place is more like grab and go. Customers are also welcome to sit inside or outside.
Foods are fresh and tasty. Customer can chose one main entree with three different small sides.
The place also offer dessert as well but didn’t get the chance to try.
Price: reasonable with amount of foods.
Fried fish is made by catfish. Quality is good, but the crust is thick, not my type.
Eggplant has sour taste. It is rare to find that style in Taiwan, I am disappointed.
Overall a bit oily, especially the vegetables.
We got pork chop and 3-cup chicken bento. Both meat were flavorful, tender and not overly oily. There are a lot of vegetable side to select from and we enjoyed all of them.
Such a great place to stop by for a healthy and satisfying meal when traveling between SF and Tahoe. We’ll definitely come back!
they now have street food items

Highly recommended: get the Thai iced tea before it sells out. I got there around 12:20pm and three customer ahead of me bought the last the last drop of the Thai iced tea. If you are too late for the Thai iced tea, try the sarsaparilla soda. It’s not a typical sarsaparilla I’m used to but it does change things up with your lunch in a good way.
Price: A +
Service: A +
Quality: A +
It’s pretty moot at this point if I’m commenting about returning because I’m definitely coming back to try the other items on their menu.
