Fantastic brunch location with a wide variety of options. Everything we ordered was fantastic and the staff is one of the best around. It also has a fun vibe with colorful art on the wall which brightens up the room.

My husband and I are on a mission to try all the food spots in Lynchburg and nearby cities, and Bentley was next on our list.

The food was solid overall. We came in during brunch, and I ordered the fried oysters with waffles. The waffles were the real standout—buttery, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with pearl sugar that added great texture and just the right amount of sweetness. I didn’t even need syrup. These aren’t your typical breakfast-place waffles; they’re definitely a step above.

The fried oysters were just okay. They were cooked well, but nothing particularly exciting. I wouldn’t order them again, but I’d absolutely come back for the waffles alone.

My husband ordered the $13 lunch combo, which included chicken bites, fries, and a canned soda. The chicken was good—about five or six fresh, nicely breaded, two-inch square nuggets that were cooked well. It came with honey mustard (likely Ken’s). The fries were a decent portion but very bland. He felt it needs more seasoning or salt at least.

An amazing tapestry of food! She-Crab Soup, Wild Mushrooms, and Pork Osso Bucco. Such amazing flavors woven together into a sinfully, elegant delight. Bon Appitite!

First time trying this place. Was very good. Ordered a few separate things and all were great.

– Crab Soup(bisque):
unexpectedly delicious. I believe crab and lobster soup can be very hit and miss and this was a hit. It was very creamy and full of flavor and nice texture.

– Fried Okra:
Also unexpected presentation. Full of flavor and the hot honey gave it a sweet kick

– Turkey Melt:
Meat was very moist, I’m not typically a fan of sandwiches with bbq sauce unless it is brisket or sloppy Joe but this was just the perfect amount, like a touch of bbq sauce so as to not overwhelm but still get the Smokey sweet taste to enhance the smoked turkey

– Baked hair of the dog Skillet(brunch menu)
I actually was not a fan of this but my husband loved it. Though The chicken was very crisp and juicy.

Overall value for price 10/10

Highly recommend! Enjoy!

Lunch experience was both pleasant and savory. Convivial atmosphere in a contemporary setting. Well curated wine list, varied drafts and creative cocktails. Fare was properly prepared with fresh ingredients and reasonable portions. Particular applause for the she crab and sherry soup. Inspired to endeavor for dinner.

I’ll spare you the suspense… this was THE best meal I had while in Lynchburg.

I started with glass of the Gran Familia Rioja tempranillo. Slighly tart and so juicy. I need to add this bottle to my home bar ASAP.

The brussels sprouts were perfectly cooked: nice and crunchy with delightfully crispy skin, and drizzled with a sweet orange glaze. I sprinkled a little bit of salt on top, and the sweet/salty combination just took it over the top!

The gnocchi was chewy and cheesy and oh-so good. Loved it!

The smoked, dry rubbed wings were ever so slightly crispy on the outside, and perfectly cooked on the inside. I would have liked to taste a little more of that smoke flavor, but they were still good.

The flourless chocolate torte… Unbelievable. Rich, but not heavy or overbearing. The chocolate was delightfully dark but not bitter. Just when I thought my meal couldn’t get any better… This dessert was the perfect conclusion to an already divine dining experience. If “death by chocolate” tastes like this, well then I’m all ready to go.

As delicious as the food was, the staff was even better. They were so welcoming— smiles and all— from the second I stepped in. They seemed genuinely happy to see me and I immediately felt comfortable. Emily was my server and in addition to being an absolute delight, she allowed me to enjoy my incredible meal in peace without checking in incessantly. Of everything I enjoyed about this dining experience, I think I enjoyed that most of all.

Listen, I don’t care what you’re doing or what’s on your agenda… If you are in or anywhere NEAR Lynchburg, you absolutely MUST add this bistro to your list of places to visit. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Everything was good, but thr brussel sprouts were outstanding! Would go back just for those The she crab soup, risotto and flourless chocolate torte were delicious, as well. The salmon was tasty, but a little overcooked for me. Definitely looking forward to dining there again.

The outdoor patio is welcoming and clean. The interior has been renovated from the old Small Batch BBQ place. I ate in for happy hour. Our group was pleasantly greeted and seating immediately. The staff is kind and quick. I am excited to see how this new restaurant fares.

The prices are a little high, but matches the food. Highly recommend the Wild Mushrooms and Brussels Sprouts. They are so good.

A converted garage is now a lively bar and restaurant with fun seasonal specialty mixed drinks and food. The food options include enough variety to cover a spectrum of prices and tastes except the options are limited fresh vegetable dishes. Most dishes are carb heavy but that’s what keeps the local business, and you can work around it. The crowd on this night of a festival was all ages, casual and welcoming and chatty. Loved that. The service was perfect. We spent $117 for 2 dinners, one appetizer, beer. One of the dinners was filet which is higher than most of the menu items. I do wish there were more healthier options. My husband wants to come back, probably missing that I don’t cook this kind of comfort food he loves anymore.

It was my first time in Bentley’s and I have to say it was worth it. If you’re gonna order the she crab soup, and you absolutely should, you have to say yes when they ask you if you want the sherry on top, I promise any other decision is a mistake. I got the Chicago Italian beef sandwich. It was definitely giving The Bear vibes and I left with no regrets.

And if Brian, with an “I”, is behind the bar, be sure to order a cocktail. His service is bar none and his hospitality impeccable. Highly recommend for anyone in the Lynchburg area.
